That didn't take long at all. I figured much later in the year.

Top Gear without the BBC sticking its head through the door (other doors are available). Sounds good to me!

I hope Netflix will give them the budget and most importantly the freedom they need. Because let's face it. At times, Top Gear really was sexist, racist, machistic and whatnot, but it was all (in my opinion) in good humor and good taste. They need that to keep the original flare and flavor. It'd be a shame to see Top Gear descend into a soulless, politically-correct bland mess.

I doubt Netflix will be too restrictive in all honesty - they're doing a solid job with all their productions, and I'm certain they'd like to be pulling in the same number of viewers that Top Gear on the Beeb had.

That's the main point in my opinion, they (Netflix) can't be sure the new show is going to be as profitable as TG, because of these kind of doubts, they may choose not to give the same economical support BBC used to.

Would rather see it come to ITV. Netflix is more of a paid thing, not everyone has it. ITV also is one of the biggest channels in the UK, and for Top Gear to move there it would allow huge finance and prime time TV slots. I have Netflix but I prefer TV shows to stay originally on channels. I have no idea how Netflix releases each episode, but for a TV Channel it would be at one point and have replays one other time in the week. Also Top Gear needs to stay British, one of our only shows left that is known Worldwide

Good news for sure. It was all tongue in cheek humour,, if you got offended by it,, get thicker skin.
I agree with you guys above,, as long as they keep similar format / budget and shenanigans,, then im sure BBC will be sorry they let the show go..
Go Cptn Slow
EDIT : In regards to NetFlix.. Im in Japan,, so i usually just download the show via torrents..

As for it staying British, hmm, Channel 4 would be a better bet, they seem a lot more solid than ITV.

I (in Australia) have only ever seen ONE ITV show and it was on, get this, Netflix. ITV doesn't broadcast internationally, at least to my (very limited) knowledge. You're worried about being known worldwide. Netflix is by far the best way to get anything recognized internationally.

Finally a reason to use Netflix again. (when it's confirmed of course.)

THIS JUST IN - The producer of the new series planned to leak the news to the public, but Jeremy Clarkson beat him to it.
