I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for the two 10+ car crashes I apparently have caused in the last few days of this PL. I say apparently because my mind sorta went blank during those races, but I only had ONE too many bottle of beer before each of the races, so no I don't have a drinking problem, I will still party hard and I will still gladly enjoy my pre-race bottles of pisswasser.

There were some amazing races earlier today. Got to participate in a prolonged battle with 4 or 5 others for about a lap and a half, sometimes going 3 wide into turns, all without any incidents due to bumping or other such interference. And the van race where the 5 taco trucks were getting burrito boosted was utterly hilarious. I was almost in tears at the end of that one from laughing so hard. Going 3 wide in a taco truck around that hairpin was insanity.

Yesterday the playlist was much fun and I was doing much better then before. It's a shame that I mostly can't participate in the whole playlist because of the few time I have.

Why am i lagging now everyday? Everything looks smooth 60fps on my side. My Internet is shit with 6Mbit Down and 550Kbit Upspeed. But i think after the last Patch this problem started for me. I cant remember that somebody had any problem with me lagging before the Patch. Maybe somebody else can remember racing with me and know if i was lagging or not? Has somebody an idea what i could do? I thought Ping is important in Online Games. But it seems GTA is different. Please help. It would really suck if i had to stop playing the Daily PL. Leave all the Events. And actually have to stop racing because i dont want to race alone vs. randoms  |

for me it looks like you're getting random lag-spikes. because there are races where you're moving completely fine, then all of the sudden you start teleporting.
i had issues when i started playing GTA on PC, and switching from DirectX 11 to DirectX 10 helped me a lot. since the last patch, my game crashed twice, which didnt happen to me before. running DirectX 11 again now. i'm not sure, but DirectX seem to make the biggest difference, at least for me. event though i dont even know what exactly it does lol.
but if you're constantly getting 60fps, i wonder if it's your internet connection. maybe there's something that can keep track of your connection, so you might be able to see if the lag-spikes are caused by your connection, and not due to frames.

Stress is the main issue I have currently, where I'll start to crack under pressure and make mistakes I'd otherwise not even come close to making. It's been getting better over time, though, as I participate in races more and get to do battles with others around my skill level. If you notice yourself starting to get worried or stressed about someone trying to get past you or on following someone you're trying to pass, take a breath and try to calm yourself some. It's helped me calm down during some heated battles long enough for the pressure to get to the other person, either with them making a mistake or just slowing down due to no good openings to pass. I believe broughy covered a topic similar to this in one of his discussion videos, but I'm not sure which it was. |

You need confidence. Everything's easier to do when you expect it to happen. In some of my earlier races I got pretty damn excited when I was near the front but then I'd f*ck it all up and end up with a mid-pack finish, but now when I'm doing these races I see myself as someone who should be up near the front getting good finishes, so I don't feel any pressure when I'm in a top 5 spot or even battling for the lead. |
