Howdy folks.
I very recently got a PS4 but have been having a recurring issue. Thankfully(?) is IS repeatable.
If I am playing normally, there are no issues, but if I change the channel from HDMI to regular TV, and then back to HDMI, the screen is black. The PS4 is still on and functioning, but I have no display as if my PS4 is not communicating with my TV. I can fix it, but the only way to do so is to put my PS4 in rest mode and turn it back on.
I have searched the internet, and all the solutions I have seen are that it's a bad HDMI cable or a bad HDMI port on either my PS4 or TV. This is the same cable and TV port I used for my PS3 with no issues, but to be safe I swapped out the cable, but still the same issue. I can't imagine it's a bad port on the PS4 because it works fine and only goes out when I change the channel. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance.

Do you have multiple hdmi ports on your tv? You could try and change to another port and try if it works then.

I think this guy has an LG-tv or a 4K-tv we had the same problem we set it multipule times in save mode and after a couple times it worked just set your resolution on 480p.

Hmmm, well, I accidentally turned off HDCP instead and....now everything is ok. Does this make any sense? HDMI Device Link is right above HDCP, so I'm just a clumsy idiot, but it doesn't black screen now.

But it could deffinetly help with other stuff aswell. Good it works for you, but you can't watch Netflix, youtube, wwe network and such with it off.

I don't have Netflix and I have my computer right next to PS4 (similar to Broughy's set-up) so that other stuff doesn't bother me. I'll call this a success then. But thanks to everyone for the help and input.
