Okay so since there has been increasing talk about tracks for this I might as well make the decision I've been leaning towards for a while: The circuits used for MCEC 3 will be LSGP, NL, OGP, BC24 & RONR.
There will be two rounds on each with variations in a number of aspects between each round. More details on that in future but basically both races on LSGP won't be the same, and it won't just be the cars separating them.
This championship has always been more about the different vehicles used than the tracks and I really don't have the energy to go through another selection process of different circuits after BV (even if BV tracks were the basis of the initial selection). The history of the championship has been on my circuits and everyone knows them, meaning those who don't have as much time to put in won't be at as much of a disadvantage. If anyone has a problem with the track selections speak up now so I can remove you from the signup list before the main thread starts.
I can also announce that there will be 10 different classes used. We're basically cutting out the repeated sports classes from MCEC 2 and replacing them with sports classics and vans. If anyone has any opinions on car selections together with class+track combinations again speak up now before the main thread is up. I'm not going to get in a big discussion about it but I will use any thoughts to better make my own decisions on this aspect.
Finally I expect that the championship will be starting a little later than initially advertised. Possibly early march rather than early feb. What I intend to do is in early jan I'll create the main thread and tag all the signups. This thread will be used to organise all 3 platforms and will contain the full race calendar with dates, tracks, cars, and any extra information. I'll then go through the process of choosing the drivers and assigning them to a GT, finally culminating in the usual live team draw on a live stream for all three platforms. Then we'll be in full swing to get the championship sorted. As I said though I'll tag everyone who has signed up when that main thread goes up.
At the moment we have about 70 signups for PS4 with 40 for XB1 and PC. It's very possible there will be a secondary championship on PS4 to allow those who don't get in the main championship to participate in something. I expect this would be a bit smaller at 5 rounds with GT4 & GT5 so to speak (possibly 1hr races too instead of 1hr30), and take place before the regular PS4 race on alternating weeks. Details will follow in the new year though.

Broughy1322 I don't know if it can be decided yet, but I would definitely prefer taking part in the alternative championship you've mentioned, just to let you know.

I'll put the "preferred GT" question to people on the main thread when it goes up in the new year and if this is the case I'll make sure to include GT4&5 in that. Just a reminder to everyone that you won't be able to freely choose your car class like in other MCECs, but there will be 3 classes in the main championship like MCEC 2.

As much of a shame it is that there will be no new tracks for the MCEC, I fully understand your reasoning. The tracks that will be in are proven to be solid tracks for events like this. I really hope to see and race the Verlierer, im in love with that car! I would like to go more in depth in other ideas I have in mind. I can either post them here or start up a PM with you Broughy1322 , what do you prefer?

Broughy1322 What about the idea I suggested for season 2? To recap, basically each GT would consist of a selection of cars, not just a single choice, to promote variety, accessibility and tactics. As an example, a GT1 in Sports would be made of the RCs, Elegy, Massacro, Jester, Feltzer, GT 2 of cars comprable to say the Comet and GT3 with performance standard set by a Schwartzer or something. Dunno if that's something you guys want to do. I think it would freshen up the old MCEC formula a lot, thus making it more interesting for both the racers and the viewers.

I'll read everything and take it into account but won't be making any final decisions on anything beyond what I've already confirmed until the new year. Would like to see a focus on car/track/class selections though. Broughy1322 What about the idea I suggested for season 2? Whilst I like the idea I think the beauty of the classes is that everyone is in the same car. It's a lot more pure and based on drivers alone. There will actually be some changes to the regular formula but that's still to be announced/finalised. I think the showdown events are the better showcase of the kind of thing you mention.

Just my 2 cents on the logical choices for classes: BC24h - Sports Classics & Off-Road It's the track that makes the most sense for the Off-Road class, same reason you picked it last year. And as for Sports Classics its well known this is your favourite class on the track, so it would only make sense for you to be using those classes there. I suspect you might've already had this thought yourself too. LSGP - Sedans & Coupes Considering that our most succesful round here last season was in compacts, using more high-traction based classes would make sense. Based on car size and manouverability I think Sedans and Coupes would make the most sense, cancelling out the high kerb-boosting factor we had with compacts somewhat as well as the general pace will be a little quicker. OGP - SUVs & Vans Considering past events and stream races, I think most people would agree that the SUV round was the best OGP round last season, and that in general in streams and what not SUVs and Vans have led to the least chaotic and most enjoyable races on this track. They just generally handle the bumpy nature in some of the areas better. Even though it might be better to use a variant with the hospital section pulled back to where it is on the new CCGP, just to reduce the risk of getting a massive pileup if someone crashes there. NL - Sports & Muscle Not particular reasoning here, mainly a result from my reasoning behind the other choices. Plus these classes are generally nice to race on North Loop as well. RONR - Supers & Compacts I think one of the best selections we could see this season would be the compacts round being done on the short variation of Ron Raceway. You've already done this on stream a couple of times, and its worked out really well every time. In my opinion that one is a no-brainer. As for supers, I think thats the class most people would be most familiar with on this track ever since it was released, so using the super class here would just generally make for better, cleaner racing.

When is the end of the sign-up fase? i'd love to join but seeing as the PC MCEC is on 21.00 UTC and i'm in the UTC+1 zone that would make me have to play until midnight. that leaves me unsure...
