Alright guys, I really don't get why you would play such stupid games. But if you really take that into consideration than we might need to change the rules. So placed 1-10 go to the back of the grid reverser and 11- 24 stay in finishing order with 11 on pole and 24 on 14th. That way people not in the points have a goal to atleast finish in 11th position I think this might be a good idea actually. I would not abuse the current rule and go slower to get a better position next race but I can't say I fully trust the other 13 guys (whoever they may be) to all be fair enough not to do that. I mean, that's probably one of the reasons why the random grid isn't there anymore - because people made suggestions that it COULD be rigged.

To cite one example, on the Montreal race in season 2, as best i can recall, iceman had a bad starting position, and then had a horrifically unlucky first half of the race that left him near last. He then proceeded, with no help from his car(alpha), to charge through the pack in order to grab i think the final points paying position. Now, if that happened with the season 3 rules on race 1, a smart guy like iceman, who is competing for the championship, is going to see two scenarios while sitting in 20th of 24 at the halfway point: 1) He can charge through the field, maybe take 9th/10th and grab a point. Then he starts race 2 in 14th, with his main competitors very close behind him in superior cars. Likely finish, 5th. 2) He can drive conservatively, not go for passes unless they are blatantly obvious, finish 19th, then start race two in 5th, in 1st by the end of lap 1 while his main competitors are fighting through the field, then utilize his head start and, if necessary, his wide chassis, to hold off his competitors at the end. Likely finish, 1st or 2nd. Now, obviously scenario two is superior if the goal is to score the most points. And it's not like he's making a mockery of the event, he's just adjusting his driving focus, in the same way that you do if you've got a 5 second lead with 2 laps to go you probably switch to "no mistakes" mode, or if you're down a few seconds with a couple of laps to go you start taking some risks. But it's because the incentive is to finish lower, which is a negative for the event. Anyway, i think ovivo's idea greatly lessens the possible negative incentives. lol, that race.. sweet how good you kept it in your mind

No, ovivoJR, we're going with the reversed grid as described. Honestly, nothing we do will satisfy everyone so I'm not going to try to. Even quali for both races... "I choked, unfair". Random grid? "I never get randomly assigned pole". Quali + reversed? "What if people would manipulate it?" Hell, that people even think to manipulate it says a lot about them, and none of it is flattering.

I'm not trying to shit on people's ideas. We've got 2 seasons of doing this and we know what we're doing. You just need to trust me and the Strategy Group on the rules.

I'd like to represent Team Vanilla Unicorn, racing in Cream, with white pearl + Bright Purple Secondary. With like three "Racy" "models" named after cars, it's only natural. I'll need a partner, I don't mind who. If you're looking for a team that's about memes, look no further.

CHill , indaair would probably enjoy being on the extreme meme dream team 2016 Quite frankly, the frequency with which allegations were made of un-NoDo like racing were levelled against ol' Phil Collins, I would be reluctant to accept them into SATCC without some sort of proof of reformation.

So right now, we have just 4 spots remaining. 1 is on Team Buckingham with jeffrey; one is on Team Vanilla Unicorn with Chill, and then there is space for one remaining team.

Reading this thread makes me pretty damn angry.
How pathetic can you be that you even THINK of manipulating the system in a game. Do you have any fucking pride? To get a lower position in a computer game so you can eventually get passed by more people in the second race? Because that is what's going to happen 9/10 times.
I know from myself that I will fight for every position, may it be for 1st or 21st, I dont give a shit, I want to finish as high as fucking possible. I couldnt care less about my starting position for the second race. Dont give me the shit that I'm one of the faster guys, and won the last season, I am aware of that. The way of thinking of some of you is just outright stupid.
Now give me all the shit you got, i'm ready.

The way of thinking of some of you is just outright stupid. Now give me all the shit you got, i'm ready. I think it's pretty normal to discuss pro and contra of the new grid/qualifying system. It added another point where you'll have to trust people and where there might be drama, that's why it's being discussed. It changed from a "can we trust the host to honestly do random grids" to "can we trust the 11th to 24th drivers to keep fighting even if it might mean a disadvantage for the next race". I've only been a follower of season 2 but i kept seeing suggestions that grids may be rigged, whether it was just a joke or not, it'd bother me if i was endersai. I don't see where you read that anyone wants to abuse the system, we're just worried that someone might. Or that there'll be drama about it even if noone is abusing it. That's also why i suggested a qualifying for 2nd race, because if someone chokes or anything, he got only himself to blame and the qq would be of a much different kind. I do see how another qualifying might strech the whole thing out too much though, especially considering how many people have problems staying in a racelobby without dc.
