Do any one know of a method for placing a grid on a uneven surface? I once saw a video showing that you can place the grid on a prop, remove the prop and the grid will "fall" to the nearest surface below. The issue with that method is that the start/finish checkpoint will be in the air where you placed it originally. What I have found works best, and it works even better after the stunt props were available, is to place an appropriately size stunt building block buried at the point where the grid checkpoint will be, or barely protruding from the surface terrain, and manage the angle with Advanced settings to smooth out the rest of the grid so it will be successful. If needed you can use several props to get it smooth enough for the grid placement to work. The bonus with the stunt props is that they rez with the same priority as the ground, so if you need to put some small pieces to keep a vehicle from falling into a ditch at the beginning of the race it will actually work instead of 60% of the time the vehicle glitching through or into the prop as it still is with the non-stunt props. SaveIf I understood it correctly, then this method won't work if you want the grid to face downhill? Anyway, thank you for the tip. I have another place where I can place the grid facing uphill

I have another place where I can place the grid facing uphill I'm not sure if this would work, but you could possibly use the glitch mentioned by bladecruiser in the OP to switch it from a 3x2 grid facing sideways to a 2x15 grid since these options are located next to eachother. I would do it with a small grid as a small 3x2 should fit pretty much anywhere on the map, then use the glitch I described earlier to flip it into a medium-sized or large-sized grid afterwards by saving and quitting and such. Me and Pardonias used to do this glitch before we realised we could use the small-medium-large thing to switch it from a 2-player to a 30-player grid. However I'm not 100% certain if it still works, and also not entirely sure if you could pick up/drop the grid to make the vehicles appear above ground, as I've previously experienced mixed results with this glitch where some vehicles appeared above ground and some glitched in below the map. Could be worth a try though.
