No, I literally meant going over curbs on straights to gain speed. I'm not tolerating that.

It's really just about respect. If everyone is trying to find a piece of sidewalk to drive on constantly there's a big risk someone is taking down poles and various objects which will ruin the race for others..

Wow. I've come back from dinner to find that I've started WWIII What I said wasn't meant as a new rule to be adhered to or anything like that. It was literally just passing on the premise of a discussion held between myself and the Apex guys taking part. At the end of the day, no one is going to be able to stop anyone from doing something. We've finally been able to agree to a date for the battle after some long negotiations, let's just get down to business. Sorry if I offended anyone with what was said, I want to make it clear that that was not my intentions at all.

Sorry. I meant I'm not tolerating the rule to not use the curbs on straights. If that's the case then either you're going to boycott the competition or the whole of APEX will! If that's the stance then its just not going to go ahead In the spirit of friendly competition all crews make sacrifices and to label it a silly rule is a bit harsh. We for a fact know that were probably going to get hammered on Los Santos GP and Project Z but were willing to take it for the chance to participate in a cool one off event and race against guys we don't normally race against. By saying your not tolerating another crews opinion on something is just making the whole thing incredibly off-putting. From another perspective, imagine if you were signed up to participate for NODO against a crew that weren't a clean racing crew, had no rules against pitting people and openly stated they wouldn't tolerate having to wait up for people if they spun them, would you be happy to go ahead and participate in that event even though the other crew had no interest in respecting even some of NODO's rules? For these events to take place you have to come to a happy medium between the crews that everyone's content with, they're just not enjoyable otherwise. We're giving up one of our most popular events for this event to take place, it would be a big shame for everybody that's helped set it up for something like this to potentially crash the whole thing.

I know it was just an example but you should edit the bit about dirty crews out.I know you weren't calling nodo dirty but some people take offence easily

I for one welcome this rule with open arms!
Even though, I have to admit, I do now use curbs simply because without it I'm just not fast enough to keep up with the people who do use it.

Decided to sign up as well so I can comment when I want to. I'm one of the drivers that's going to represent Apex in this battle and I think that Rodg said it right that we (Apex and NoDo) have a different philosophy on GTA Online racing. I think our philosophy on it sits somewhere in between you guys and GUN1T's Sweat Buckets. We'd prefer to race without sidewalks, kerb boosts, turbo boost starts, and any other little trick, but we're also aware that they do exist and have to be used to get the maximum in any situation. That's my take on it anyway. I commend you guys for creating a tightly knit community that does adhere to very specific rules and I can certainly get on board with having kerb boosts (except when they're part of the racing line) banned for this event. Doodle I think you're overreacting a little bit there tbh. As long as everyone is doing the same I don't see the problem, and let's be honest we're only talking about actively deviating from the racing line to get a boost here. I'd have thought you'd have preferred this kind of rule tbh, but each to their own.

Couldn't have put it better than that Broughy. I should have been more specific in saying "actively deviate from the racing line".
Now on to more pressing matters. When is everyone available to hold qualifying? Please leave a comment with a day/time that is good for you and we will work something out

Agreeing with broughy on the kerbs part, actively searching for them by deviating from the racing line I don't approve of. For the qualifiers friday's and weekends are probably best and keeping in mind our american buddies we should probably do it on a saturday or sunday. And Broughy1322 as the event now has been moved will you be able to parttake/live stream it?

I am okay with the curb rule but it will be pretty difficult to enforce!

Yeah maybe I was overreacting a bit. Just shows how I'm still a kid. Sorry for the arguments. Silly of me to do such a thing.
