Since I bought an Xbox One controller (wired version) only for racing in GTA, I was able to use my mouse ( Razer Naga 2014), my keyboard ( Tesoro Durandal G1NL Ultimate) and my controller to input to GTA. It was very helpful for quickly getting through all the menus (mouse scrollwheel combined with keyboard). Now, when I'm in GTA I can't use my keyboard at all if my controller is plugged in. Since I use the controller for racing only, that sucks. If I disconnect the controller, I can instantly use my keyboard again. But then, after about a minute, my mouse (driver?) craps out, doesn't register clicks even on Windows desktop, and makes a weird sound (through the speakers) every time I press a button. This repeated sound is the same that I get (excuse that mad guy). I tried killing my mouse driver and it worked last weekend, but now this method didn't work. Does someone know how to solve this problem?

Yeah, Microsoft screwed something up with the recent Windows 10 update. As far as I know, the issue is related to Windows 10 and Xbox One controller specifically. I'd suggest following Windows 10 reddit for example, to be notified when they fix this because it's still broken. For now, do a rollback, uninstall every update up to KB3139907 (only those with "KB", nothing else) and you should be fine. Then you should hide those updates because OS will be prompting you every time you restart to update and will do that eventually. To do that, use this - support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930. First, uninstall the updates up to KB3139907, then use that tool to hide them. That's the best solution for now.

Also you need to turn off a windows service called Windows Update. If you don't windows will automatically download and install the update that causes this issue every time you boot up your PC.

Thank you all very much for the replys! I tried uninstalling the problematic KB3140743, but I always got an error, even when trying in Safe mode. After searching a bit more, I discovered this reddit thread and these two comments have a solution. Basically, you replace Microsoft's broken driver of the XINPUT device (XBone controller) with an older version (which is scanned with Kaspersky and VirusTotal and is digitally signed by Microsoft). Jman85's link does not work anymore, I used sean8102's mirror. IT WORKS!!! Thanks for your help again!

So you're running windows 10? cameronman1329 I dont have a playstation controller, but if InputMapper simulates an XBone controller, it should basically be the same way to fix it. Try it out and let us know what happens.

Also my xbox one controller didn't show up under usb controllers, it showed up under xbox peripherals on w10. However I did find a way to make it work. If anyone else's shows up under xbox peripherals go in to the properties/driver update driver, then choose browse my computer then let me pick, in mine 4 choices showed up the one that worked for me was Xbox Gaming Device Version: 10.0.1586.0 [10/29/2015].

I had problems with the KB3139907 update but fixed it by uninstalling it and disabling win update. Some time a go I decided to enable win update again and install KB3139907. Everything seemed fine until KB3140741 came out and now I got the unresponsive desktop issue described in OP. Now I just tried to uninstall this update but this time, for some reason, both the KB...907 and KB...741 are market as permanent updates and can't be uninstalled. Welp Disclaimer: I don't know if they are market as permanent updates but it's the only logic explanation that I could find.
