jeffreyb1990 -- I did a 15 lap test with soft slicks and it was fine,, obviously if you lock up the wheels or run off the track the tires will wear more.. I managed a 2:21:1 with 10 laps old tires and 45l of fuel only to notice later on that the tirewear was on slow and not on real

Just to add to StoryVS post above.. He did this with a controller,, not a wheel / pedal setup. GG on the lap time. One thing to note thou,, GT3 in real life races usually run with ABS and Traction control on,, they dont use or arent allowed Stability Control. Story,, you may want to check with endersai if this will be allowed in the races,, or turn on "Realistic Aids" in the lobby setups. Then only real life assists will be available to toggle on or off..

I feel really slow now. Especially because I also race with a controller, but these lines are so smooth. Thx Story for almost breaking my spirit.

I'm probably back to the 2:21 pace; managed two x 2:22 evens with this current setup back to back and I know I can probably attack the corners more. Thing is, I don't know about long form race pace but I think for a long stint with precise fuel and tyre use I could easily see myself lasting til the end and keeping that pace. The downforce I run is higher than any settings I've seen on pCARS forums and databases, but they're for single lap speed. I managed to sort out tyre wear; a set of softs lasted me 8 laps on 2x deg (would have done 10-12 laps for Pez) and to be fair I junked them with the front left - the hardest load bearing tyre - was at 30% so there was more life there yet. Now I can probably manage 16 laps on softs if I push, but front left will always go and I'm not sure adding 2-4 BAR to that wheel is optimal. It's all right hand turns so the left will just wear the brunt of the degradation. To be honest though, I've seen the McLaren kick arse at Hockenheim so it might just be like real racing some cars suit better circuits. Fucking game, making me qualify 2nd by 9/1000ths of a second.

For those that don't have it yet, like myself, Slightly Mad just released a GOTY Edition. Hopefully, I can get in on this soon.

Use this link Project Cars Limited Edition ,, ($25 US / 22 Euro) activates and downloads thru steam. Then just pick up the DLC packs you want off steam. Just offering a cheaper alternative to get in on the action sooner.

Yea, the GOTY edition from steam comes with all the DLC for 26$USD, which is pretty solid. Derp, it's taking off all the stuff I already have.

Grumples_Plox (grimreaper977) - you settled on a car? Also on the question of bots - we will race with them so long as our grid is <20 people. A grid of 24+ is more representative of the size of a real grid and if you're being taken out by bots often it may be your errors doing it. Their blindspots are like ours and if you run crew chief (ask Pez for details) you don't get as many issues. But in GTA racing we deal with dumb takeouts all the time so this should be familiar. ovivoJR are you raedy to join?

I might switch my car choice to the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, #31 red, white, blue livery. I like the BMW M3 but the fact that we're using real assists (traction control and ABS only), the M3 doesn't have either of those and it's a bit of a handful without them. The SLS AMG is a bit more stable and it's got the power on the straights to remain really competitive. I've already been able to hit a 2.18.9 with the real assists. I'll let you know if I really do want to change. At this point I'm leaning towards changing.

I can participate in this. Haven't driven in it for ages and I'll need to dust off my wheel, but I'm interested in joining.
