Hello Fellow Racing Geniuses,
i didnt find a better place for my question, anybody who knows his shit is welcomed to answer me!
its about the brake and throttle triggers and the right way to use them. i believe game engine knowledge is needed for this one.
-high speed corners:
easy, just stay on full throttle, release nothing. but if it has a bump? a short shifted curb boost is better right?
-nearly high speed corners: the ones where u have to release the gas at least to (shift down? turn better due to no throttle? or is it more about the cornering acceleration that u want to have in every corner?)
-soft corner: now whats the best take here? a quick short full brake while releasing the gas? followed by full throttle? or just release the gas half and brake only half? half half with both triggers? no release of gas at all?
-hard corner: do you hit the brake hard for the perfect amount of time or is it better to trigger your way to the best cornering speed? do u brake immediately? or just release gas first, brake later? wouldnt that cost time?
hair pin: is it correct to aim for the apex with full brakes and try to catch the high revs and take them through the corner? is hard braking the key? or is it a triggerin, soft spot finding, half gas half braking thing? is a slower gas trigger pull good to avoid a spinout? or shall i steer better at nearly full throttle.
i am kind of fast if i have somebody in front. its so much easier in every corner to keep the speed if i only have to look at the guy in front of me. i only concentrate on the distance to him, not what i do or how i do it.
if i race alone, every corner is becoming a brainer isntead of a no-brainer. i start thinking of how i should use the gas and brake to get the most out of the GTA driving engine.
whats keeping the car fast and agile in a corner? whats the best way of keeping traction? why can i take the corner super fast with full traction but can also just slide out with half speed?
at what point is the brake+gas combo an important feature for the corners? is it good for a hair pin?
squeeking tyres? a sign of "thats perfect, cause i know i am as fast as possible, any faster and i loose it" or "when u slide u already loose speed?"
except for that, normal racing physics apply i guess. take the most speed with u, get a corner in a way that u will be able to accelerate as early as possible before/after/at the apex.
so tell me about your braking, go into detail. pick a well known track for examples, if you like. or link me a video. make it as technical and complicated as you want. i'll get it, or ask, or google.
point out what u aim for in every corner, whats your goal to keep the speed? (and while we're at it. how often and when do u use the MDSB)
