endersai's point was probably that in a 30 min race, with 3 minute laps, a whole lap to let someone pass is too long. Ofcourse it's something that has to be looked at case by case, but if we didn't put this rule in place, that would mean a faster car can wreck a slower car unpunished. This would be especially sour if the lapped car was batteling for position with another slower car. (in a multiclass situation for example) Even when lapping a car, the aim should always be to drive as clean as possible.

It isn't, though. 10% of a race is a lot of time to spend behind a stubborn backmarker, I know; but if you manage to get past them the first time, then be fast enough over the course of 30 minutes to make up 3 minutes, you should be skilled enough to overtake them unaided and if you aren't skilled enough to overtake cleanly, that doesn't give you an excuse to cause a crash.

Jackimo, we don't have marbles and dust laying next to the racing line which severely compromise the handling of the car. So moving out of the way is much easier than in rl racing.

So you're saying I'm wrong, and then say the exact same thing I said. :derp:

Not saying it does. I'm saying in a short race, the gap at the front may be tighter with more at stake so if a back marker doesn't immediately let someone through I don't - or rather didn't - want crew rules enforcing waiting for that backmarker.
