I'm relatively new here. Just made the transition to XB1 from PS3 and I'm enjoying discovering all the dlc's that I'd missed out on. Anyway I have a question. Who is the oldest Nodo? I'm 38 and have been playing games since I was little (acorn electron, amstrad cpc464, commodore amiga anybody?). I even still have my Sega mega drive (genesis) with mega cd in the garage! Is there anybody out there older than me? If so, please provide tips for convincing my better half that GTA is a productive past time! Jon. 35 here. The important question though is what games did you have on the Amstrad CPC464?? - Harrier Attack - Roland in the Caves - Roland on the Ropes - Monty on the Run - Some snooker game that made a lot of shit noise when aiming... I still remember the loading sounds perfectly!!

This. Great thread. A modern times equivalent of old times friends sitting together in a bar talking about good' ol times. Well, one difference being reading this thread involves less booze than one of those bar thingies.. 39tillmaybtw

I still remember the loading sounds perfectly!! I still remember watching a game load for ten minutes plus then getting up, catching the desk with my leg and making the whole thing crash! And now it's a problem when the rockstar game servers aren't available for five minutes?! Anyway. Amstrad games? Harriet attack. Absolutely Anything by codemasters with "simulator" in the title. Remember four player bmx simulator? 4 people crowded around a single keyboard. How about playing all the way thru Dizzy with only 3 lives? And my final memory for tonight is Chase HQ. Loved it in the arcades. Loved arguing about which port (Amstrad, spectrum or C64) was best even more

^I had the MSX port of Chase HQ. I'm 39. edit: Here's link to PC remake of my favorite racing game from good old times. Mother of all racing games, F1 spirit by Konami. F1 spirit PC remake downloadedit2: Link to my first computer, it came with one c-cassette filled with games. I don't remember if there was any racing game on it, but we coded some kind racing game with my dad back then. There was letter at the central bottom of the screen which used to be a car and then "road" which was basicly letters marking kerbs. Don't remember if it was car or road what you could move with cursor keys, but anyways, that was first racing game i ever played Basic 2000 computer

I can't begin to explain the pride I'm feeling right now. That the very first thread I ever started has resulted in the creation of this track. I'm quite literally overflowing with emotion that Nick has done this. Sniff. Sorry, having trouble holding it together. Great work Nick. Can't wait to give it a go. This thread has inspired another race. When the question was asked what were the earliest driving games played, my thoughts went back to before the Apple I Computer Kit was released - slot car races. I only had a simple set, but in geek summer school, there was a teacher who set up a 4 track 6 foot by 8 foot setup that we got to race on while the glue on the model cars or planes we were making for class was drying. I found the original instructions for a set somewhere in the middle between my own and the teacher's and recreated it - AFX Big Block Battler. Thanks for the inspiration.

Kangee - a link would have been nice, since we old people seldom have the time to search for stuff. You stole a bit of my precious life time, because I had to search myself... rsg.ms/4a302b0 Will try tonight.

I just turned 48 (on the outside) the inside hasn't got any older!!!
I remember the original Space Invaders coming out, Pac Man and all the others, still can't work out how to play Defender ffs
Had a Dragon 32, a what you might ask? it was the first cartridge gaming system, no more listening to tapes loading, only for it to fail after 15 minutes of eager anticipation!!!
Oh, I forgot the first one, I just remembered, I had a Pong as well, no more staying in playing Scalextric on my own when it was pissing down and couldn't go out to play real football, my savior from boredom had arrived.
Moved through the Sega Megadrive, N64, and started gaming again a couple of years ago with the Ps3, now getting my arse handed to my by the kids on Ps4 lol.
Playing Minecraft with my 7 year old daughter as well, think she is eyeing GTA up.
Never grow up, it doesn't sound like much fun to me!!!

I'm 42. Age is just a number. Yeah I have a mortgage and a decent job but underneath I'm just a big kid and always will be. Besides I grew up during the gaming boom. Atari, Amiga and all that. I love it and always will and I'm just lucky to have a better half who likes gaming too.
So if I'm online and playing something like Lego - I'm on with her. If not, it's me.
