yes, true. more time invested, more outcome. you play towards something and you get a reward, most games work that way. but GTA is not one of them. but than again, ppl seem to have no problem with repeating the same heist with the same cutscene for a millionth time and they might even call it gameplay or working towards something, while rockstar offers it all for real money aswell. so either get bored as hell or pay real money. i dont like rockstar's attitude to this. its a middlefinger from them. you didnt see the finger? well its there every dlc.

The point is - you don't need 18 sports cars, 12 supers, and 6 properties. Instead of selling to upgrade to the RE7B how many just acquired it to go with their Zentorno, their Osiris, etc?
Need and want are terms people don't understand as well as they should, but have prescribed meanings. People want a lot, need very little, but call their wants "needs" to add a false imperative.

Your argument makes complete sense for the real world but gta is a game, so there are no real needs, only wants. People may say they need a faster car to stay competitive but want to keep their old cars either for nostalgia or just because they enjoy them. At the end of the day though, no one needs anything. They want to enjoy a game they've been playing for years.

Sure, but they conflate enjoying it with a primal FOMO that drives irrational behaviour.
