Happily Ferrari were closer in qualifying than on Friday which bodes well for the season. The coat hangers don't look great though.

I am really happy that I was wrong with my rant friday.
At least Sebastian is much closer to merc then I expected and the Merc team strats seem to be as off as Ferraris were last year.

"Times they are a changin"
As a long time Mercedes team supporter, I suddenly found myself cheering when Vettel took the lead. Nice to see some close competition again, although overtakes seem to be a rare thing this season.

Almost in tears, so happy to Vettel and Ferrari win. I know it's only one race but it's been to long.

Ferrari hype?! Looks like we'll have an interesting season this year constructors wise. Should have a good ding-dong between VET and HAM this year which will be juicy. Looks like the new regs are going to be bad for on track battles (mid to late 2000's sez hi), but it's only one race in so I will reserve judgement for now The cars do look noticeably faster which is always cool to see. Some of the turn ins looked disgustingly quick in qualy. Tl;Dr HYPE.

As far statistics and test results go.
Ferrari is the car to beat right now. Giving the fact that according to pace analysis from Barcelona, Melbourne was a week track for the car, and a strong one for the Mercedes. The Red Bull is not too much behind, but in the last years, they improved their car the most during the season. Ferrari wasn't too impressive with improving the car during the season lately. I see a really good chance for a 3-way in the front starting from around when they arrive to Europe.

Ferrari might not have been the best at improving the car during the season, but I think this win will be a massive boost for the whole team.
Btw I think Giovinazzi did an outstanding job not doing something wrong and bringing the car to the finish line.

I was surprised Stroll did not hit anything.
Happy to also see Felipe come in second.
Anyone notice the in car cams and how smooth the Ferrari and Merc are around corners with the drivers not fighting the car compared to the Williams where they were sawing the hell out of the steering wheel in som corners.

Just finished watching the race, good see there will be a fight on at the front of the pack. Hopefully it's a case of Mercedes with qualifying lap pace and Ferrari with the race pace. Or a bit of both!

Are the podiums usually this (as I see them) friendly? If this happened with Americans we would be extremely salty about the loss xD

I said usually, not always. Yea I know, did you see how awkward it was between the two of them on the podium?
