This seems to be the first actual Horizon 3 event hosted here, so this is more like a trial run, and I want to keep it rather short and casual.
Event Format
Before the event starts, please add me on Xbox Live (Gamertag: Shostakovich772). You will receive an invitation to a private freeroam lobby upon event starts. There will be only one race. Please do not start any event after you join the lobby, otherwise I will not be able to start the race event. You must join the NoDo Teamspeak server (see details below in Teamspeak section). You don't have to speak, but it is necessary for you to be able to hear the instructions. Standard NoDo racing guidelines apply, but you don't have to wait if you accidentally knock someone off, since that might create even more crashes.
Event Details
Expected time: about 15 minutes.
Tracks: 1 asphalt/road track, not disclosed until event starts.
Vehicle restrictions: 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (R34).
Mod/upgrade restrictions: Limited to A class; no engine swaps (but you can upgrade the stock engine); forced AWD.
Tuning restrictions: None.
Signups
Online lobbies are limited to 12 players, so only 11 more people can sign up for this event.
You don't need to be in the in-game NoDo club to sign up for this event.
Please reply to this thread with your Gamertag to sign up.

Teamspeak
For those who don't know, Teamspeak is a tool the PC crew uses for communication during all GTA events. All information you need to setup your Teamspeak and join the NoDo Teamspeak server is as follows:
Server: nodo.teamspeak.servegame.com:9124
Server password: nodo
Please go straight to the "Forza Horizon 3" channel under "Other games".
Misc
Finally, here are some discussions about why I choose to organize this event this way, and some quick survey for anyone (if any) interested in these events. Here's a related thread: nodo.freeforums.net/thread/9228/forza-horizon-race-night-event
I believe the main reason we want organized events is to have some decent racing with quality drivers, instead of just with randoms who just smash into people. Online adventure doesn't seem to be the best option for such races, given its lack of customization options. I haven't played much Co-op campaigns yet, so I'm not very sure if it's suitable for events like this. Having a meetup in a private freeroam lobby and set up our own races seem to be the best option we have so far.
In terms of track choices, I want to avoid sprint/point-to-point races as much as possible and mainly focus on circuit racing. Besides that, I would like to know if anyone wants to have some offroad or rally races as well.
The reason I started in A class is to avoid too much crashes, as it might be hard for some people to control a much faster car in S1 and S2 classes. It's same reason for choosing forced AWD. This might change if it turns out most people can handle these cars quite well. In terms of car upgrades, Johneboy82 had some discussion in his thread I posted above. I restricted engine swaps to avoid too much difference in performance, but I believe everything else can be up to the driver's taste.
Due the nature of DLC in this game, we might not be able to organize many events focused on DLC cars. But it is a viable option if we organize a multiclass event where some of the cars come from DLC, and others don't. Given the same reason, I don't think we will ever host any event in Blizzard Mountain, unless most people own these DLCs.
Last but not least, I chose this event time because it seems rather neutral to all time zones, but I would love to hear what time suites the best for you.
