For several days now I've not been able to connect to GTA Online. I can sign into PSN no problem when I switch on the console, but I try to get online on GTA and I keep being told the Rockstar servers are unavailable right now. Is anyone else having this problem? Is this a worldwide problem? Is there something I've missed recently?
I heard a report of these hackers who hacked into Xbox and then Playstation a few days later. My problems have coincided with this, but I can't be certain this is the reason. So I was hoping to gain some insight from you guys. I don't want to be kicked from the crew again for being inactive! I'm trying to be active, I promise!

Happened from time to time, but the second attempt always got me online. Try clearing your System cache. Or try an invite only first.

Thanks for the response and apologies for the delay in my gratitude! Been away over the weekend. First chance since posting this thread to get on the PS3 to sort this issue out will be later this evening so I'll see what I can do.
Cheers!

Hey man, sorry to hear you're having problems getting online. The best way to not get kicked during a purge is to go here ---> How to be promoted and never kicked and follow the instructions. Doing so will earn you a promotion to crew rep and then you will be immune from any future purges. If your problem still persists, that would be your best bet to 100% guarantee your place in the crew for the foreseeable future. Again, sorry about your problem and I hope you manage to sort it soon.

Ah yeah I've done all of that already anyway, but I still feared getting kicked for not being active enough! I've had these issues all last week and I'm away on weekends as it is. Hopefully I can get this sorted tonight.
Thanks!

Anytime this becomes an issue for me, I always check into the same culprit... needing to re-authenticate on the Social Club. Go to the Rockstar Social club and click on the little settings symbol (looks like a gear next to your name) and select settings. Then, select the "Linked Accounts" tab. If you need to re-authenticate, there will be a button next to your PSN ID/Gamertag that says "re-authenticate". Afterwards, restart GTA. Sometimes I need to re-authenticate once a week, sometimes a few times in a day. But, it always seems to improve my connectivity after.

I totally agree with wallypinkerton. Except I just unlink it all together on the social club site and re-link them in-game. It seems like doing that and deleting the cache clears up most connectivity issues.

I'll have to try that izzy. Thanks for the suggestion. Which cache are your referring to? The browser you use to connect to the Social Club?

Cheers for that guys. I did not know this. I did manage to get online without any problems on Monday, but next time - and there will be a next time - I have connectivity issues, I shall try out your suggestions. Much appreciated!

On ps3 it's in the internet browser under tools, delete cache. I've had so many connection problems that if I know I'm wanting to play for a while I reauthenicate my psn id on the social club site, delete cache, and reboot my router AT LEAST before I think about launching the game.

My connection has been wonky lately too. I'm going to do the cache thing today. Did that help you out? Sorry for not posting back. I wrote down the particular error and did some reading on it. ps4daily.com/2014/09/ps4-error-ce-34878-0-fix/The suggestion from Sony for that error was to re-initialize the PS4. I searched more and found that IRL, that tactic didn't help everybody. I went with my gut that it was poorly written software in GTAV. I took no action, my favourite solution. The error did not return for me online the next two days, the 23rd & 24th. But I haven't played online at all on the 25th or 26th due to the Sony ddos.
