Welcome to NoDo!
(Dont be a scumbag, read EVERYTHING)
NOTICE: Many people have been messaging me through PSN to be signed up for the Welcome Playlist. You must ask to join through this thread, not by messaging me on the Playstation Network.
Here is my attempt at recreating NoDo PC's "Welcome to NoDo" weekly playlists, aimed at newer and/or slower members of NoDo to learn about racecraft, the vehicles, and basically how to NoDo. If this playlist does its job well, you should be able to go out and compete in random playlists with other NoDos, or at least have a place to race people with similar pace. Keep in mind though, this isnt a playlist for you to just rack up wins. If its evident your skill has increased, you'll be asked to not join this playlist again.
Hosts:
Me (jt33396) and sherratt313
Being human, I cannot always host the playlist on Saturdays, and eventually may have to suspend the Welcome Playlist, so Sherratt has graciously accepted to host for me whenever I am unavailable.
Send Sherratt a friend request and he will host a closed friend session. You can just join through him on your friends list, dont wait for an invite.
HOST THIS WEEK IS : Sherrat
Playlists:
I'll make playlists up of tracks that I feel are quintessential to NoDo, are enjoyable, or can test skills. Tracks will always be set to:
Time: Current
Weather: Current
Participants:
There needs to be at least five signups, max is 29 sign ups so I can fit.
EVERYONE must have their Rockstar Social Club ID and PSN in their signature.
Go to profile> Edit Profile > Personal and scroll down. Where it says signature, you want to type in your PSN ID and your Rockstar social club ID, than youll be all set.
Time:
The playlist will last about an hour and a half to two hours. It'll normally be a ten race playlist, though sometimes I will include less races and more laps.
Do I have to stay the whole time?
No, you can come and go as you please, though if you signed up on the list, at least show up for the first race. Ask for an invite back from me or anyone that's on this weeks playlist.
Cars:
Sports, Coupes, Muscles, Supers
Have at least one of each of these classes.
Sports
Muscles
Supers
Coupes
Sports Classics / Sedan / Compacts
Vans / Utilities / SUV / Off roads / Sedans / etc.
Certain classes of car ( *Cough* Muscles *Cough* ) were at one point very diverse and balanced until certain DLC introduced a severely dominant car. Because of this, there will be times where I will ban those dominant vehicles from a race, and with R* not allowing respawns, be aware that its not always enough to own just the top vehicle in every class, particularly in the muscles and compacts class. If you want recommendations for secondary vehicles in a class, ask me or anyone else in this post.
SLACK:
I imagine not everyone has a mic, but I know everyone at least has a smart phone, so download Slack from your app/play store to communicate with each other. Its totally free. Everybody uses it, and it'll guarantee less confusion. Once you've downloaded Slack, go here: nodo.freeforums.net/thread/3406/live-client-nonchalant-dominance-slack
Follow the instructions on that forum post and you should be all set
*This is not a process you can do half an hour before the playlist, do this ahead of time*
More Rules
Blue Flag:
Blue flag is a rule in motorsport where competitors who have become lapped by other drivers (if you're in dead last and the person in first place is coming behind you), they must not battle with those who are a lap ahead, and must give way. If you are being lapped you must let everyone pass without engaging in a battle.
Virtual Safety Car: Accidents happen, its part of contact racing, but sometimes a spin or crash into a wall can upset the flow of the track and stop even those who are uninvolved, first corners are a prime example. Crashes like this can result in racers falling far behind through no fault of their own. If a large crash does occur resulting in a large separation of the race group, I will call a safety car. The race leader must slow his pace to half or less. Anyone within the group nearest the race leader must follow behind without overtaking each other or the leader. Whoever has fallen behind in the race will have the opportunity to catch up with the pack. Once the group is back together, I will say "Green" and normal racing will resume.
As an extension to the safety car rule, please dont be in a party during the event, stay in game chat so you can hear my call outs and instructions.
Staggered Starts
Once we hit about 12 people in the playlist, things start to get a little hectic, especially if the first corner is very tight or the track itself is smaller. To avoid first corner collisions and general AIDs while racing, I may send people off in groups. I may say "Person in pole to person in sixth place are one group" than I'll blow the sticky and those six people head off together racing in their own race. Everyone else gets the same thing. Remember: While it is a race, you are here to gain racecraft, not be at the top of the leader board. Anyone who joins the playlists and causes disruptions and starts killing people in a race will be kicked from the playlist, reported to the commissioners and you will not be joining the playlists again.
Bounties:
All bounties on players in the prelobby belong to sherratt313, and I will hunt you down until I get your bounty

Cars:
Sports, Coupes, Muscles, Supers
Have at least one of each of these classes. If you're just starting out and arn't sure which car within the class you would like, we can share cars before the race starts so you can find the one that you like. Rockstar are really adamant about not letting us respawn cars, so please be sure you have cars from at least these classes listed above. I will sometimes host Sedans or Compacts as well, but I normally announce those ahead of time. In the spirit of being an open, liberal crew, there's no restriction to modifications or vehicle, though I may recommend certain modifications on cars to help make racing more fair. There will be times that we may race other, odder classes like Vans or Utilities. We dont race motorcycles, planes, or boats. If you're really uber new to GTA, I would prioritize buying vehicles in this order:
Sports
Muscles
Supers
Coupes
Sports Classics / Sedan / Compacts
Vans / Utilities / SUV / Off roads / Sedans / etc.
