Are the bars all that matter (top speed, acceleration, braking, traction) in order to get the best out of your car? As in can I just slap a turbo on a super car to max out the top speed bar for example without having to upgrade the engine, transmission & such. Or should I upgrade all the performance parts even if the bar is already full? Perhaps Broughy1322 is the best person to answer this if at all possible.

I don't have any experience with the game code and how it translates over to the stat bars in LSC, but what I do know is that to get the absolute maximum out of your car you will want to have everything on it. Whenever I blow through all my cash and have to do the upgrades in stages the order I got for is: 1 - Engine, 2 - Turbo, 3 - Brakes, 4 - Spoiler, 5 - Transmission, 6 - Suspension, 7 - Wheels. Then do all the cosmetic stuff in any order you want after that. There's been a few times where I spend all my remaining money on just buying the car, so I have to do the upgrades bit by bit and this seems to be a good order to do it in a hierarchy of importance. Bear in mind that what I say is not the gospel...this is just from my own experience. Hope that helps you dude!

Simply put, you need to have all the performance upgrades to get the car to it's fastest possible potential. The stat bars only go so far up in acceleration and top speed, but they do improve past that supposed visual limit.

You can basically ignore the stat bars. Stock compacts have higher top speeds than upgraded compacts on those scales.
