I've ben playing since March 2017 and since achieving the required number of wins under the old system, my cars are fully upgraded and I have met many great racers who had their own unique advice. So this is what I think I know.
Curb boosting: drop two wheels over the curb to get a speed/rpm boost. Seems legit given my results and how many people do it.
Tires/rims: apparently offroad tires are the best because they absorb bumps the best especially while curb boosting, and will increase overall speed. Broughy has offroad tires on his cars while testing. Is this true? I hate putting offroad tires on anything other than offroad vehicles. I haven't noticed any difference in true speed, other than less bounce over curbs. I hope this is a myth because I'm a visual guy, offroad tires/rims are ugly. If they are great at absorbing bumps, is there any downside such as cornering or acceleration traction? There should be lol.
Car angle while airborne: does pointing the car down actually take air resistance into account allowing you to touch the ground sooner? Based on my experience this seems to be a real thing.
Rim choice within a rim class: this is new to me, but some claim the rim choice within for example, muscle has advantages over other rim choices within the same class.
Motorcycle wheelies: obviously pulling a wheelie on bikes helps you off a jump and when accelerating. But for a bike like the the Akuma or Shotoro where the front wheel doesn't come up once at speed, is there still a benefit to leaning back VS leaning forward? Like going up hill for example? Excluding the drag bike. I know on track leaning forward is best.
Armor: does adding it add weight and thus slow you down? I generally only do non contact races so I never add armor to my racing cars. But, if there is no downside, why not add it? Maybe it will lessen the instances of those moments when you damage your front end sending you sideways off big jumps?
Bikes curb boosting: I don't think it works but I see high level players doing it. Is it a thing?
Tube boosting: I know in cars you can use tubes to create momentum and thus speed. But does it work for bikes? Secondary question. In a straight tube exit, is there a benefit to going left and right or looping to gain speed?
That's all for now lol. I'll save the rest for another time.
