What did you buy that you regret buying. Do you wish you had bought something else? WHAT IS THE BEST VALUE AIRCRAFT TO BUY??
I bought a Pyro, Starling and Akula. I am not sure that any of them are worth having. I don't really use them, though I feel the Akula is pretty useful at times because you can go stealth.
I am not talking about dog fighting. Is there a reason to buy planes? And what do people think of the Rouge?

I regret the buying the titan when I first started. I didn't realize it it spawns constantly. I would say if you like flying and are good at it, then the hunter, akula , rogue, and hydra are pretty useful. If you're a good pilot, then they can also be devastating. You really don't need all of them tho. I just got the rogue about a month ago..haven't used it much but the weapons are great. The plan is by far the most maneuverable in my opinion. It's a little touchy so takes getting used to. It being so touchy makes it a little difficult to put your cannons on target. But it is fun and good dog fighters can take down hydras and anything else really

I have a lot of aircraft and use them a lot for missions in free roam and getting around the map since I don't use Deluxo, Vigilante or Opressor. The plane I use the most is probably the Molotok. Easy to take off, quick, very easy to land. Very useful for missions where you have to travel long distances, pick something up and travel back. My favourite plane for trolling people is the Bombushka, dropping a bunch of cars on people on the ground never gets old for me. It is also usefull for delivering 4 bikes in that bikers sale mission. I also like the Alpha Z1 and the Howard for doing stunts and taunting jet griefers.

Best dogfighter: Rogue. It's fast, has missiles, bombs and explosive rounds. And you can have a co-pilot to deal with bombs and countermeasures while you focus on fighting. Best all-around: Hydra. Vertical take-off and landing, speed, explosive rounds. Best heli: Akula. Just the stealth makes it the best already.

I think it's because it's propeller and not jet tho. And it's up and down turning seems really bad compared to left and right

Dunno if it's the placebo effect though.

IMO worthwhile aircraft are:
Starling (best bomber/dogfighter, most control over plane) Pyro (very good dogfighter) Hydra (beginners plane, practical) Lazer (I bought it and painted it Gold as a status symbol) Seabreeze (good bomber, good cannons) Rogue (explosive cannons are overrated but adequate, not the best, fast)
Sea Sparrow (amphibious buzzard) Buzzard (practical for CEO request and leaving office) Akula (amazing stealth bomber) Savage (sky mini-tank, explosive cannons, too big to fit in tight areas though) Hunter (8 barrage missiles, sky-tank, countermeasures)

You named almost every attack aircraft. They also all add up to probabaly $50 million if not more. If it were my money, and it is, I would have to narrow that down to the Akula, Buzzard and probabaly the pyro for something for any situation. That will still set you back over 10 million, though. I think when recommending things like this, it is important to contextualise the recommendations. Like, the seabreeze can land on water, but in every other respect the Starling and pyro can do the same things, but normally a bit better. The Lazer is an exception to this as it is not a great plane, and is therefore ONLY a status symbol - the Rouge is much better in a dogfight. But then, you also have to think about when you're actually going to use any of these. If you're a regular dogfighter, than i can imagine some of these making sense - but when does a savage make sense, or a sea sparrow. I am not sure. Thanks for the list though.

I certainly agree with the Akula - but i feel it is too easy to out-manoeuvre a Rogue if you're in a starling or pyro. (I realise that they do not have explosive cannons, but their speed and agility certainly count for something)

I agree with serious11. Because the rogue cannot nearly match the turning radii of the Pyro or Starling. That was also a nice excuse to use the word Radii. The explosive cannons on the Rogue also suck, I think they're the equivalent to an Explosive sniper, which takes two direct hits to kill someone, and the cannons are spread out so it's very difficult to fly.

I'm pretty sure the Akula stealth mode acts the same as ghost organization, in that no matter what your doing (carrying heist prep equipment as example), you will be hidden from the map once you go stealth mode. So the Akula is most certainly worth it.
I actually brought the Laser for 6.5 million just to complete my fighter jet/war plane hangar show floor. Yea, do not do that, it's not at all worth it. I got it just because I'm a collector and am willing to spend big sums on crap I want, but in terms of being worth it? No, not in the slightest. The Hydra is half the price, has the same explosive cannons and the same missiles, and is far far more useful doing missions because it has a VTOL mode and can hover, letting you wipe out enemies with the explosive cannons and letting you land basically anywhere a heli can land. The Laser does not have VTOL, and cannot do these things.
The Laser I say is the 3rd biggest ripoff in the game so far.
1st - Golden Luxor. (Literally any other Luxor with gold paint, and it's 10M?) 2nd - Yacht. (At least this has some use as it can protect you with it's anti-air defense system, but not worth 10M counting upgrades) 3rd - Laser (It is a decent jet with one of the most powerful guns in the game, but it's not worth over 6M when the Hydra is more or less the same, has VTOL, and is half the cost. I get that the Laser represents modern jets while the Hydra represents retro jets, thus since the Laser is newer and supposedly more advanced it should cost more. But not double the price of the more practical Hydra, that's just insane.)

Depends what you want from the aircraft at the end of the day really. If you wanna dog fight. The Starling, Pyro, Seabreeze and Lazer are all brilliant because they're soo agile
If you want them for freemode missions etc.. Akula for off the radar. Buzzard for instant spawn through ceo, hydra for vtol

I came to this thread intrigued by the title, realized I know bugger all about airplanes in GTAO, saw that there were questions I could un-misleadingly answer... so i did....XD
