When I first logged into GTA Online, almost two years ago, I loaded up that first introduction street race before you're even allowed to free-roam... that was the best time I've had in GTA. It's been fun but still downhill since...
I want to get back to that. I think GTA has some of the best racing physics, combined with the open world and the plethora of cars... it is the IDEAL virtual street racing environment. Or at least I haven't seen better... or even close.
Sadly, in two years, I had come to believe I was the only one who saw this game that way.
The myriad of stunt tracks, the sheer toxicity of the community, the depressing hour long wait times just to get one person to join a legit race only to have them leave... or poof, four laps and done... never to be seen again and back to waiting...
I don't know why it took me so long to research this topic, organized race crews, which is what I did tonight and how I found this group. The 'word' is that this is the place to go for a realistic racing community. If you live up to even a fraction of that, I'd like to try and be part of it.
This game depresses me when I see it in my library and a new community of mature gamers who see the game the same way I have, might be just the trick or at least ease some of that pain... just knowing you exist, has already soothed...
I live in Colorado and I'm 46 years old. I go by Jason, or Jay, or "Ape"... I enjoy other aspects of the game as well and would be helpful to other crews when running missions or business stuffs... the shooting and all that... fun...
But the racing is where it's at.
I play other games (at the moment and in addition to GTA: Ark, Empyrion, XCom 2, Civ 5... a few other smaller titles...) and I have limited time for this based on real-life... but when I do play, I play in marathon spurts... entire three-day stretches at a time. I may not be around for a few weeks, but I get my hours in.
These are a lot of hoops to get set up... I hope I'm dotting all my T's... I applied to the "NoDo PC" crew in-game... I've bookmarked the Discord... I'm posting this and I intent to post to the main page that brought me here... if I'm missing any steps, let me know.
