Hello!
My name is Martin, I am 34 years old and I'm from Sweden. I play GTA Online on PC and have been interested in the racing aspect of the game since i first started watching broughys videos when doing vehicle research (I do a lot of research on pretty much all the games i play). The combination of racing and a lot of other possible activities in this game is what made me stay after the first 30 hours or so. I
I want to join NoDo because my experience so far of racing in gta online have not been at all what i imagined after watching the fastest lap testing series. I imagined a large racing community and the possibilities of choosing more specifically what kind of races i wanted to join and not to be at the mercy of random hosts who like gta-style races with max traffic or the bumpfests that is most stuntraces. Im looking for a place to have clean races, improve myself and have fun while doing it. as a member I might be a bit shy at first, and to be honest, probably later as well, at least in voice chat. I think respect and humility are important values and try to adhere to them in all my encounters with others, in game and irl.
DISCLAIMER: Extremely rambling ramble about why I like gta racing, where I am otherwise in the game, what other games I play and more. Read at your own risk.
Before the recent 2x stunt race weeks I havent really raced that much since ive been busy setting up my criminal empire so that i can afford all the cars I want. I started playing in the middle of August and am finally at a point where i can make a million+ a day with a small amount of effort and a large amount of afk:ing. I have also bought at least one car for every class that is competitive and most of my other main goals in the game are fulfilled. This means i am finally ready to put more time into the racing aspect of the game and again, thats why I'm here.
I am definitely not a seasoned racer or racing sim/game player. The last pure racing game ive owned and played more than just an hour is Slipstream on steam. If you can call that actual racing ^^ I do feel that ive found something i didnt know i missed in gta racing though. Learning how to take the best lines, managing gas and braking etc all has me hooked. Not to mention all the nice cars. When i found out i could have a skyline in the elegy retro custom i bought a shark card almost without being able to control myself lol.
As of writing this I am having a lot of problems with the game crashing, though that seems to come and go without anything I try really having any impact. It is decently stable for relatively long stretches of time though so hopefully it'll work better again soonish.
Other games that Ive spent a lot of time on: CSGO, Rocket League, The Division and various (J/PC)RPGs. I also own the division 2 and have played a bit but due to lack of friends playing it and other obsessions taking over it is currently collecting dust. I definitely plan on going back to it again in the future though.
RAMBLE OVER.
As you can probably tell i tend to use a lot of words when expressing myself. Anyways, thats my introduction. Oh, and I should mention that between me reeducating myself, my part time job and my girlfriend I have kind of limited time to play with (pun intended). I have the game running a lot for afk:ing and I play pretty much every evening but, yeah, its mostly limited to one hour stretches kind of sporadically of actually playing actively. Thats is why I'm hoping there is a way to be part of this community kind of casually. Casually in the way that when i can play i can check whats going on and who is online and join whatevers going on. Ofc I realize planned events is probably out of the question for me to participate in. Now I'm rambling again and I'm sure all this will work itself out.
Happy to be here and hopeful to stay.
Martin
EDIT: My time zone is UTC+2.
