So you might have a favourite movie, but I want to know what is your favourite series of movies. By this I mean For a series it has to be more than one movie, and is judged on the overall series not one film. There have been a lot of great movie series, I'm sure a lot here will says F&F since it's car related Personally it has to be the James Bond series, it's surely the longest running series of movies of all time, it's pure class from the first to the most recent, (although Timothy Dalton wasn't the greatest ) So tell me your favourite series of movies, remember it's anything over 1 movie, so it could just be 2 movies (e.g. The Hunger Games)

This is a tough one for me as all of my childhood favorites are series. I have to go with Star Wars but Indiana Jones and James Bond are serious contenders.
I do recognize that new trailers have come out for Star Wars 7 AND Battlefront recently so I'll understand if you might think I'm more stoked on the series as a result, but Star Wars was my first obsession. Sure the Prequels hurt the series, but the Originals are strong enough to counter it for me. The trench run, Battle of Hoth, and final battle around the second Death Star were just too epic for my 6 year old mind.

The Three Colours trilogy (all three are utterly brilliant)
Followed by:
Mad Max (the first two films and quite possibly this new reboot, the third sucks) Toy Story (all three) The Godfather (1, 2 - 3 not so much) Alien (the first two, a little bit of 3 and yes even Prometheus - the rest including all those Predator mashups suck) Evil Dead (the first two and little bits of the third, the remake is atrocious) The Dollars Trilogy (all three, but espcailly The Good, The Bad & The Ugly) The Living Dead (Night, Dawn, Day and Land - no to the rest) James Bond (I like Skyfall, Goldfinger, From Russia, Thunderball, OHMSS, You Only Live Twice, have mixed feelings about the rest, think Die Another Day, Quantum of Solace and Moonraker are amongst the worst films of all time)

Either Toy Story, Star Wars or James Bond for me! I think Star Wars would have to take it though!
I'd be willing to bet Toy Story is the most successful series ever if you do it 'number of films:money made' ?

The Dark Knight Trilogy or LOTR Trilogy. Anyone says the Hobbit trilogy is just as good as lotr you are lying and you are getting paid by Peter Jackson

Wow not even close! I can't believe I forgot about LOTR, hands down best trilogy of all time! BTTF and Nolans Batman are up there as well! These are domestic averages by the way (U.S. box office only). There is a way to sort it out to worldwide averages but the site is extremely unintuitive. Toy Story 3 earned over $1B which is phenomenal. However if you compare that to the first film which earned 1/3 of that, and to the second one which was less than half of that, the average is relatively quite low. So yeah, not even close! Almost every film in the Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Hobbit series has earned close to $1 Billion, or over. They're probably the best bets for highest average in a franchise. Have a look at the worldwide all time chart: www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/world/

Pretty much all those mentioned above ^ I would like to add: Rush Hour, first two I really enjoyed and the second was not as good but still enjoyable. Robocop, loved all 3 of the original trilogy. The remake is again ok at best but I'm not much of a fan. They should have used a remade version of the original soundtrack Dammit!

The first film is an absolute masterpiece of action and satire. The remake is an absolute masterpiece of cynical Hollywood raking it in.
