Note:
This championship has been completed.. It felt really sad to fill (COMPLETED) in the title.. Congrats to all the winners and thanks for joining. The biggest thread in the history of the NoDo forums, and we completed it.. I don't think there will ever be such a big championship on. This season was a blast and it was the perfect way to say goodbye to the current PS3 community.. Thanks guys. <3
Introducing the event:
Hello everyone! katenhond2010 here with a brand new event! And it's bigger then ever!
Cool, an event, but what is it like?
I think everyone knows the feeling. Loving racing, loving championships and especially the MCEC but not having a next gen console.. But now we're having something similar on the PS3! It's basically an approximately 8 races long championship having two differed classes. The classes what will be used are discussed, but no supers.
But why no supers?! How about my chrome Zenporno?
Zentorno's are cool, but not everyone has that car. We want this championship to be locked down at specific cars, supers are very expensive and especially for GT2 the chance that people have their rides already is pretty small. Also the tiny amount of choice in the supers and the lagg causing speeds are valid enough to skip this class if you ask me.
So I have to deal with whatever shitcar you force me to?
Driving cars where you're not used to is a very new experience! But the mindset of this championship is that everyone can share their opinions and suggestions. So if I'm getting the feeling nobody really wants to drive a Rat-Truck for 45 minutes, I'll change it to a suggestion where all of you guys can agree on!
45 minutes? I thought the MCEC lasted longer?
Yeah laps will be set to last around 45 minutes. Driving for more then an hour will be an issue for people in the late timezones. Also the shorter the race, the less DC's we'll have. Keep in mind that delays can happen, and that I'm having a prerace lobby. That means it'll take around 80 minutes from the start of the pre-lobby until end of the race.
Pre lobbys? Don't you mean all for one deathmatches?
Causing carnage in pre-lobby's wont be appreciated.. I'm pretty serious about that.
I want to sign up what will happen?
Date and times are decided. I'll put you in a conversation to make everything go smoothly. This Thread still will be used to announce signups/ signoffs, reserve driver requests and race conditions. I just make the conversation where you can tell everyting you want. Just so all of this stays organised.
Awesome, but I'm having this awesome Surfer in my garage from your last event! Will we racing vans again?
Ofcourse! #vansmasterrace
The Setup:
The most best way to run this championship is by selecting 16 people, get 8 teams and race on a track together. This happen 8 times in a 8 rounds long championship.
I think everyone knows what multi class racing means, but it's explained HERE. The GT1 and GT2 cars are all teamed up creating 8 teams with 1 GT1 car and 1 GT2.
Races will be withrout slipstrean and catchup in the GTA race mode. Weather conditions will be different each race. Time will be set to current, and the races will last around 45 minutes. GTA race mode is required for the starting procedure and pitstops if they are available.
The teams have been made randomly by a draft on my my Twitch. The results can be found on the spreadsheet linked below.
Communication:
There are two message conversation for this championship:
The main conversation is the one for the main racers:
Here we will discuss everyting about the race. Car choices, weather conditions, track choices. etc. You'll be added to this conversation whenever you signed up on this thread. The thread will still be used for the race results, signups/offs and reserve requests.
There is also a message conversation for all the reserve drivers:
Here I will announce whenever there's a spot available for the reserve drivers. I don't include the reserve drivers in the normal conversation because that would be to much spam. More information about reserves below.
The racers:
For more details about the drivers and their teams, look the spreadsheet
Starting procedure:
This is how we'll be starting the race. The host will be leading everyone around the shorter version of the track and you use the formation lap to get into the correct starting position within your class as shown below. Don't get too crowded coming to the start line! Leave space to get in your position and take it slow. Both the GT1 and Gt2 drivers share the same starting position.
Team: | Race 1: | Race 2: | Race 3 | Race 4: | Race 5: | Race 6: | Race 7: | Race 8: |
Devin Weston Racing | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 1 | 2 | 3 |
Inside Track betting | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
Jetsam Racing | 6 | 7 | 8 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
Team Arcadius | 7 | 8 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
Pig Pen | 8 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 |
Ring Of Fire | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 |
Ego Chaser | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 1 |
team Chatterbox | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 1 | 2 |
Pole position for each class is on the left. All cars must be in the center of either the left or right lane and staggered. There must be a big gap between classes. It's important to listen to the host's instructions.
The race will be triggered by a grenade. The host will trow a grenade out of the window. When he does this he needs to tell this by microphone, so everyone know the race is starting soon. At the start double clutching/ using the mid drive speed boost is allowed. But please be smart and figure out if it's a smart thing to do on the track first. If the first corner is really close to the straight, and you're not in pole, double clutching will only cause issues. If you and someone else crash it's your own responsibility, and you need to wait.
Reserve drivers take the starting position of the driver they're replacing.
A quick note about disconnections - if someone disconnects during the start phase before we actually get the race started then unfortunately that's just bad luck. We won't be restarting. However if 2 people or more disconnect a red flag will be declared and we'll attempt to start the race again.
Rules:
To make everything go as smooth as possible there are a few rules. Rules for both the participators and the originator (me).
Let's start with the rules for the host:
The host is unable to cancel races whenever he gave the starting signal.
Races cant be redone by the hosts call, but only by a poll if more then 75% of the racers agree. These occasions are very rare, but think about slipstream randomly getting activated, massive disconnections or just a participator who decided to abuse the GTA race mode.
If someone in this championship decides to act against the community guidelines the host needs to inform a commissioner.
Players are able to kicked out of the championship by the host due not showing up and inactivity on the forums. But without permission from his teammate the host can't kick the participator. If the teammate is also inactive there is no permission needed.
There are also rules for everyone about racing:
Race clean and follow the racing etiquette's.
When tracks are having pit lanes re spawning is not allowed. Only when you're really really stuck you are allowed to respawn.
Racers in GT2 are not allowed to defend against lapping GT1 cars. Just stick with your normal line. No need to pull off to the side of the road.
Racers who are unable to race need to post this on this thread as soon as possible, the host will try to get them replaced. More about this below.
Curb boosting, double clutching and all tire types are allowed.
There are also strict rules about the pre-race lobby:
At the start of a race I'll invite everyone to an invite only session.
No flares around the parked cars.
No use of explosives.
Don't damage other people on purpose. Don't even think of killing people.
Be careful with parking your car. Don't drive into and damage other rides on purpose.
If you have cops call Lester or kill yourself, if there are cops chilling at the meetup people will get stars withrout reasons.
Listen to the host, so have your ingame chat to "crew+friends" or "everyone"
The main rules are very very important in my opinion, to maintain them there will be effects if you're not following the rules.
If I notice you still not following the rules you'll get a warning by microphone. If you ignore this the next incident will lose you 2 points. You'll also be informed by a PSN message if this happends. If you still cause havoc after that, you'll be kicked from the session and unable to race the round.
I know all of you guys are mature enough to follow these rules, so them being really strict doesn't matter that much. I'm just very serious about it all going properly. I don't want CCEC lobbys.
Points:
Points will be rewarded to everyone who started the race. The point system will be coppied from the MCEC (SEASON 1).
Position In Class Points. Everyone who showed up in the pre-lobby will receive points. People who don't show up don't get any points. The first disconnection will be get points assuming he would finished last. So 8th place with 8 racers, 7th place with 7 racers etc. If there will be a second disconnection he will be positioned second last.Third disconnection third last etc. If there are 2 disconnections in thesame class.
before the starting signal after the formation lap, the race will be redone. If this happends the amounts of laps will be reduced. I'll discuss that if it happends.
1st | 12points |
2nd | 9 points |
3rd | 7 points |
4th | 5 points |
5th | 3 points |
6th | 3 points |
7th | 2 points |
8th | 1 points |
In all your 8 races the best 6 scores will count. This is to compensate DC's, and prevent drivers to be disabled from the driver championship when they can't make it.
Getting reserves in:
If you can't make a race for some reason, you can get a reserve to race for you. If you can't make the race you need to post this on time on this thread. I will post your reserve request in the reserve driver conversation. First reply gets it. I don't want everyone to settle their own replacements. Allowing that will make better reserves more asked then others, while I want reserves to all have an equal chance of racing. Points reserves get won't count for the player scores. The scores will only count towards the team championship. More info, check the spreadsheet.
