So if the Saints Row series is GTA on acid, would this be GTA on steroids?
Played Just Cause on the original Xbox but never got round to playing 2...hopefully this will bring me back to the series

I'd consider it more of a third person far cry on acid with better game mechanics and just pure badassery but a not as good story.
What was missing from the second was any sort of multiplayer or co-op. Hope this can extend on what was an already ace game.

The hype is real. I'm pretty sure it is solo only though.

Navigation, driving, and general physics were far better in Just Cause 2. The navigation in JC2 is so intuitive, especially the aerial mechanics. The grapple/parachute combo is revolutionary and super effective, and their helicopters are much more manoeuvrable than even GTA choppers. The FC4 wing suit is so fickle and inconsistent by comparison; it only opens once you've hit L3 while the prompt is showing. The thing seriously won't open until the game prompts you with the instruction on what button to press. Even once the wing suit is deployed, it's controls are very slow. To turn the thing around takes a painfully long time unless you are making a nosedive towards the ground, something you can't do unless you jump off a Buzzer because there aren't many cliffs in the game large enough to gain significant altitude off of. The grapple/parachute movement system in JC2 was fun and let the player move anywhere, be it uphill, downhill, or across flat land. FC4's wing suit system is one that only lends itself to sufficiently steep hills, and even then isn't as effective as the JC2 method. The cherry on top of it all is the terrain; FC4 got players stuck on rocks ridiculously often; JC2 did not have this issue whatsoever because not only was the problem rare, but it could be solved by grappling away. The driving in FC4 is astoundingly shit, even for an Ubisoft game. The cars are not at all fun, and the only bright side to the game's vehicles is the auto drive feature that let's you focus on shooting. JC2 made driving a lot better, and even if it isn't particularly good when compared to GTA 5 or any other sandbox with nice driving, it managed to be fun due to the vehicle combat. FC4 has very limited combat from the cab of vehicles since you're unable to look 360 around you; there is a blind spot behind you that is unreachable unless you get out or swap to the rear-mounted gun(assuming there is one). JC2 allowed you to utilize your grapple feature and hop vehicle to vehicle as well as attach enemy vehicles to nearby objects to throw them off course, plus it allowed 360 use of all weapons. Another con is that in FC4, the camera is fixed to where you left it last and doesn't return to facingforward at all once you've left the controls alone for a while. That mechanic really becomes a chore to adjust for when pretty much every other game has a self returning feature. JC2 has a more intuitive camera that pointed in the direction you were travelling by default. The motion physics of JC2 are also a lot better; FC4 has a very unpolished physics engine in comparison. JC2 preserves momentum amongst all props, NPCs, cars and destroyable objects in the game. The motion an NPC/prop/car carries can be seen in JC2 when they are connected to passing cars, planes, tumbling props or what have you. In FC4, the motion is lost immediately and makes ragdolls look out of place and awkward. Just try to throw a body you're carrying forward while walking in FC4; the thing falls through you and lands behind you despite being thrown forward while moving forward. It is clunky for almost all props as well, and is definitely not a high point for the game. The only points FC4 has on JC2 are shooting and stealth in my mind, but even then the shooting mechanic is a pretty narrow win compared to the landslides JC2 had regarding practically every other mechanic the two games share. Both are fun games, but FC4 is more story driven whilst JC2 is more mechanic driven. If you think otherwise, let me know why. I'd love to hear.

justcause.com/en-us/blog/10-big-features-from-the-gameplay-reveal"Rico’s grapple has taken a huge step forward, with one of the biggest new features being the ability to tether up to 5 things together in the world, taking the creative destruction that made Just Cause 2 such a success to a whole new level. Tether towers to the ground and haul them down, create car catapults, hang buses from helicopters and use them as battering rams to smash down statues – your imagination really is the only limit." Oh wow, my mind is swimming with new ideas. Five tethers at once? This is Just Cause heaven.

Oh wow, my mind is swimming with new ideas. Five tethers at once? This is Just Cause heaven. Bruh, you should've got the "unlimited amount of INDESTRUCTIBLE tethers at once" trainer on the PC. That was something. Hooking 3 Tuktuks, each one to one of the leaves of a wind turbine, that was something incredible. Two things I think JC3 needs to improve upon are driving and shooting. The driving in JC2 was so ban. Unresponsive, clunky, at times ridiculous. It was hard to keep a car on the road at high speeds, at least with a keyboard. The shooting was boring. The guns sounded hilariosly weird and the overall gunplay seemed like a filler activity, not like something you should want to be doing. To be honest I don't expect these things to improve though, as the game looks so far to run on the same engine, and from what I've noticed the everything seems to behave the same way as in JC2. Also the story and the voice-acting could use a huge boost in quality, but again, I don't feel they will, as the game was never really about those two thing. And, asking me to preorder in a reveal trailer? How about you fuck off? Making me wanna pirate this game.

Story line and direction for Just Cause 2 was garbage, cheesy and predictable though, even though the gameplay and content each mission had was good. I hope they've thought it through this time.

IF JC3 is solo (which I hope it is), the JC-MP team will most likely make a mod. And if that's the case.. OH BOY! OOOOH BOY!
