Every so often I see new(er) members posting here with essentially the same question.
"Anybody up for racing?", "Any events I can join?", "How do I get to race you guys", you get my drift.
This thread is meant as a (hopefully) usefull tool to get you started if you've just joined the crew.
In a way the answer is pretty simple: Just play the game!
But I'd like to elaborate a little on this, and give some tips and links that might come in handy. Some or most of it might seem pretty straight forward, but nevertheless this might help you new(er) members to get started.
Well, before you do anything, make sure you've read the NoDo community guidelines and the Racing Guidelines.
When you've read those, a lot should be clear allready.
Now on to the racing itself, how to get invites to NoDo races and events.
First of all, make sure you've set NoDo as your active crew when playing GTA to get invites. We all know R* matchmaking isn't all gold and diamonds, but this should get you some invites pretty quick. Ofcourse it's also a bit depending on the timezone you're in, but there are NoDo all over the world, in every timezone, so finding someone to race with shouldn't be too hard.
The way to get even more involved, is to get involved!
This might sound right out stupid, but bear with me
Try to fill up your friendlist with fellow NoDo's. You can just add everybody sporting NoDo tags, but the way I like to go about this, is adding people I've raced a couple of times with.
Very often instead of inviting crew-members, people like to invite their friends, so imho, the more the merrier.
Participate on the forums, and get to know your fellow NoDo's a bit better.
It's like being at a party: If you stand around, not talking to anybody, you can still have a good time listening to the music, but it gets more fun if you talk to some people. This way you'll know what's going on in the community, and it's easier to make friends and find people you can enjoy racing with.
Next to this, consider joining the NoDo Live Chat Clients!
This is not a requirement, but we HIGHLY suggest it. Next to the forums, they are our main way of communicating.
There are platform specific channels for all consoles and pc and a variety of other topic specific channels.
Lot's of events use them to discuss details.
Besides actually playing the game, and meeting your fellow crewmembers there, this really is the best way to get involved in the community.
If you want to get involved in events, take a look at The events board.
You'll find events for your specific platform there.
Especially when new, DON'T think you're not good enough to join an event. Nobody in NoDo will ever give you BS for finishing last, or not finishing at all. As long as you make sure you're racing clean, you're good enough to join ANY event. (Not even exaggerating if I tell you I DNF most events I join myself )
If you see an event that sounds fun to you, sign up for it! Even when the grid is filled, you can always sign up as a reserve. Reserves are quite often called on. People can forget, have connection issues, real life needs attention you name it.
TL;DR:
1. Get involved
2. Make friends
3. ....
4. Profit!
If anybody has anything that should be added to this, let me know. Have fun racing with NoDo
