[PS4] Rocket League Doubles Cup

Start date

After the inaugural "NoDo Rocket League, League" has finished, so sometime after August 8th. An actual start date will follow once the NoDo League approaches its conclusion. So there is still plenty of time to practice your doubles skills.

Format

The tournament will consist of 8 teams of two players, meaning 16 participants. 

The tournament will start with a group stage, with groups consisting of four teams. All teams go through to the knock-out stage. Each team in the group plays the other three teams twice, resulting in six group stage fixtures. Winning a match earns you three points, but an overtime win only earns you two, with the remaining point going to the team that loses in overtime. A loss gets you no points at all.

In the knock-out stage, teams will be playing against each other in a best of three format. Whichever team wins two games against their opponent, goes through to the next round. The final will have a best of five format.

There will be a random draw for the group stage. Group winners will face numbers 4 of the other group in the first knock-out round. Numbers 2 will face numbers 3.

Standings

In the event of teams being tied on points, the following rules apply to determine which team is ranked highest

1. Best result in matches involving the tied teams
2. Overall goal difference of all group matches
3. Most goals scored
4. Random draw
