What is Grotti F1?
Welcome PC Racers,
the 2016 Grotti F1 World Championship is about to start into a new season. The Grotti F1 World Championship (also Grotti F1) is the highest class of single-seat auto racing in GTA Online PC. The Grotti F1 World Championship has been the premier form of racing since the first season in 1950.
The "formula", designated in the name, refers to a set of rules with which all participants must comply. The Grotti F1 season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix (from French, originally meaning great prizes), held throughout the world of GTA V on purpose-built F1 circuits and public roads.
The Grotti Turismo is amongst the fastest road course racing cars in the GTA world, owing to very high cornering speeds achieved through the generation of large amounts of aerodynamic downforce. The car is capable of lateral acceleration in excess of five g in corners. The Grotti F1 World Championship has radically evolved and changed through the history of the sport.
While Los Santos is the sport's traditional base, and hosts about half of each year's races, the sport's scope has expanded significantly and an increasing number of Grands Prix are held outside of Los Santos.
So if you are intrested in racing at a competitive level than this is the place to be!
Sincerely your ovivoJR (Organiser)

2. Requirements
Teamspeak | -> | To participate in this event you need to join Teamspeak (Server: nodoteamspeak.servegame.com:10041 PW: nodo). You don’t need to talk but you have to be able to hear the announcement of the race official/pit watcher! |
Participation & drop-outs | -> | If you miss more than 2 out of the 8 races you will be disqualified from the event! If you are not able to attend and organise a reserve driver to attend the race for you, the race will NOT be counted towards your missed races. The points achieved by the reserve driver will count towards your total standings. If the main participant takes part in the qualifying but cannot attend the race the reserve driver will start in the position the main participant achieved during qualifying. If the reserve take part in both the quali and the race he will be treated just as a normal driver. If you are dropping out of the event please contact me via private message so we can discuss a possible reserve driver for your spot. Don´t post a final statement on the forums before you contact me! |
Cars | -> | Grotti Turismo R with mandatory off-road tyres |
Teams | -> | To attend this event you need to have a teammate (you are not allowed to sign-up by yourself without having a teammate). With you sign-up you need to announce you teamname + teamcolors. A screenshot of your car is required to finalise the sign-up. IMPORTANT: Your team has to be noticeable as a team (cars from each team should look similar. Not identical, but similar) + viewers have to be able to easily see the diffrence between your team and other teams (try to avoid exactly the same colors for two teams). |
3. Racing Regulations
Qualifying | -> | One official qualifying session (Thursday/8:30pm UTC (after daily playlist)) prior to raceday. If you are not able to participate in the official QF sent a message with a screenshot of your time to Oh_Darn . Your message has to be sent by 8:30pm UTC Thursday prior to qualifying and needs to be take with a party of at least 2 drivers. If you sent your screenshot after the official qualifying it cannot be counted!!! DONT post a screenshot on this thread! If the assumption appears that a driver actively misses official qualifying to gain an advantage in starting position due to a tremendous amount of hotlapping to achieve the posted time (screenshot), officials might take further actions into account to limit this behaviour. |
Racestart | -> | Line up behind the safetycar in the order you are called. The safetycar will then lead the field onto a formation lap. Arriving back at the start finish grid cars will be lined up for the racestart. The race will be started with an exploding sticky bomb by the pitwatcher or safetycar driver. |
Pitstops | -> | 2 mandatory pitstops per race! A pitstop window is announced prior to the race and also during the race by the pitwatcher. You have to do one pitstop per pitstop window. To do a regular pitstop, you have to proceed to the end of the pitlane and stop. Look at the time you have stopped and wait for 20 seconds (i.e. 10:20 -> 10:40). The pit watcher will inform you of your beginning time and ending time based on the overall race clock when coming to a full stop at the end of the pit, this is not to be confused with your current lap time. The pit watcher is there to help as much as possible, but not responsible for any mistakes you make. |
Safetycar | -> | If there is a major incident involving 4 or more cars there will be a safety car deployed. In this situation every driver has to ease of the gas and line up behind the safety car. Overtaking is NOT ALLOWED during safety car period. Cars that have been lapped by the leaders will get a signal to relap themselves once the field has settled behind the safety car. Once everybody is in the right order behind the safety car the safetycar will be called in and the race is then open from the finish line. |
Disconnect | -> | Disconnection during a race will be counted as a DNF (caused through engine failure). This will not count towards the missed race counter. |
Curb-Boosting | -> | Curb-boosting is limited to the amount of 1 Boost per curb per lap. For clarification: This means that if there is a curb you are only allowed to drive onto that curb one time per lap. If you go onto the curb and drive off the curb again you cannot reenter the curb in the same lap. This prevents drivers from curb-surfing (using a particularly long curb for several boosts). If drivers get reported for curb-surfing they will receive a 5sec stop-and-go penalty or 10 additional seconds to their overall laptime! |
Track Limits | -> | Drivers are not allowed to leave the tarmac or trackextension with more than two wheels in any occasion. Leaving the track with 4 wheels repeatedly to gain a time advantage will result an a warning. A second warning will result in a 5 sec stop&go penalty during the race OR a 10sec addition to the overall racetime. Leaving the track by accident is not considered to be a case for a warning. An exception to this rule is part of the track where barriers limit the outside of the track. If these barriers allow the car to leave the track with 4 wheels it is alright to do so. |

4. Penalty system
This event follows the common NODO-Racing-Guidelines!
Stop-and-Go Penalty: This penalty works like a pitstop. You proceed to the end of the pits and wait for the given amount of time. Then you are free to move back onto the racetrack again.
Time Penalty: This penalty will be added to your overall time at the end of the race
5/10 sec stop&go penalty OR an addition to the overall laptime OR grid penalty | -> | Leaving the pits early (depending on the time gained), uncautious re-entering of the track after an accident or mistake (if you already have 1 warning prior to the incident), repeated blocking under blue flag conditions (blue flag = let the faster driver behind pass you) Leaving pits <5sec early = 5sec stop&go = 10sec addition to overall racetime Leaving pits >5sec early = 10sec stop&go = 20sec addition to overall racetime Leaving pits >10sec early = 20sec stop&go = 30sec addition to overall racetime |
20 sec stop&go penatly OR addition to overall laptime OR grid penalty | > | Following accidents are deemed to be a cause for waiting for the racer to regain the lost position (you may continue on the track but not at full speed): The driver in the rear pits the driver in front by accident, the driver in the rear hits the driver in front and causes them to go off the road or crash, the driver makes contact on the side with the car infront causing them to crash. If the position is NOT given back then this will result in a 20 second stop and go penalty or an addition to their overall time. |
Disqualification | > | intentional pitting or ramming of another racer: Said racer that has made the intentional pitting or ramming of another driver will be disqualified and may result in further action by the crew commissioner! |
5. Race incident investigation
If there are any incidents that a driver wants to seek clarification on, they are allowed to contact the organiser of the event to investigate the incident. The ask to investigate has to be made directly after the race. Elsewise the final result will be permanent. For such and investigation the driver has to provide video-footage of the accident that occured. The organiser will then contact independent judges (crew members not involved in the incident) to judge the situation. If the judges decide a penalty has to be given to the driver at fault, the accused driver will reveive a overall time addition to their final race result (i.e. 20 sec). The driver at fault will get a notice that their race result is under investigation.
