Hey there Folks !
I just joined the NoDo crew on PC.
If I would have known this racing group was cross platform I would've joined earlier. Thanks to a YouTube user called Broughy1322, who technically recruited me (He answered to one of my comments under his video, linking the Crews' page on Social Club, raising my awareness that the crew is also active on PC). So props to him.
I play racing games since the 90's, I started with "The Need For Speed" in 1996. Having a realistic racing game (for the time) with licensed cars on realistic tracks was something completely new, considering that back then most of the racing games were over the top arcaders. I followed the series until NFS Porsche (the fifth in the series), I lost interest when Underground came out. Never was a fan of JDM. I lately gave a try to NFS Rivals, which was an OK game.
I tried out several other racing games, I also plan on testing out Project Cars and Forza soon. (I'll have to get a console for that). Unfortunately I had to sit out on many newer racing games because I couldn't look past some technical difficulties, and I came to disagree with the ways of the big modern gaming companies making their games.
The second big franchise I followed was Grand Theft Auto. I started with the third in 2002 and closely followed the series, being one of my all time favorites, I never was disappointed by a GTA. I bought a copy of 5 the day it came out on PC and still enjoy a lot. I never considered Grand Theft Auto as a proper racing game because of the lack of licensed cars, but with V things changed. Car models are much more diverse, and these amazing possibilities and features such as properties, role-play, tuning, content creator, (which is going towards TDU territory) and the impressive driving physics (for an arcade game) made me want more.
I am also passionated for motosport IRL. I love cars, Top Gear is one of my favorite shows. I drive a Mercedes SL500 from the square era and plan on obtaining a Lotus Esprit V8 very soon. I've never been on a track day and never drove a Lamborghini, but I plan to change that.
I want to roll with NoDo because, from what I've seen, the leaders are very curative and selective, the ambience is good and the members seem respectful. I have been active on GTAForums for a while, but a fair share of the members there are toxic, salty and unfriendly. A friendly racing community is what I need, and I wish to become a full time and active member. I'm willing to invest myself in the crew, help it's members, and take some responsibilities if they are granted to me, because I'm passionate about such things.
I already was in one of APBs most active clans, started as a member and grinded my way up to moderator/officer postition, so I hope I am welcome here and can do my part as a active and useful member of the Nonchalante Dominance crew.
Greets,
Alex.
