Suggestion: Event Reports
So, this idea popped in my head and I thought sharing it won't do anyone harm.
There have been many wonderful events happening lately. My idea is that for each one of these events an after-event report could be created. It doesn't matter who would write it. Ideally the person hosting the event or someone they'd trust with writing it. It would definitely have to be someone who attended the event, of course.
Why should we do these and what benefits would they yield to the crew? Firstly, they would serve archivation purposes. They would say when was the event held and on what platform. That way you would easily know when was what done, so things could be tracked back. Also you'd know what already happened when requesting an event or coming up with your own. The ability to look back and review the things you have done with the crew would surely be welcome too. Who doesn't want to reminisce from time to time?
The reports would also inform the whole crew of what exactly the event was and how it went down. This would be very useful for crew vs crew battles, so the representing team could easily tell the crew what happened and how. It would also serve to inform the other platform(s) so we could share experiences and information with the other part of the crew we can't really play with. They could then learn from that, if they wanted to host a similar event.
It would also serve as a discussion space that would be uniterrupted by organization matters and more optimized for having a fluent conversation. Due to this it would be more accessible by the members from other platforms, because they don't necessarily care about organization.
All in all, I think this would make us a better informed and more bonded together crew. I also think we should be aware of what the other side of the crew is doing, and this would make that much more convenient.
And how would such a report look? It would be an appropriately long article saying when was the event held and on what platform (noted in the name of the thread). Contents of the article itself would be at the discretion of the author. It would ideally contain a description of the type of the event, its goals, how did it go, whether it was a success, stuff like that. The author (and other participants) could add some pictures from the event if there were some taken, their personal experiences, or really anthing else related to the event (within reason, of course, as the article and the thread need to keep their focus). Other people could then discuss the event, ask questions, post additional impressions etc.
Now, some people would of course not want to have to write anything. But some might, and would appreciate the opportunity to do something like this. All of this would naturally be entirely voluntary.
I think that's about all I wanted to say. I appreciate every opinion or suggestion. That way we either dismiss this idea, if deemed unnecessary, or refine it and make it a reality.
