Blaine County 48h Bullet Endurance Special
APRIL 24th ~ 8:00pm UTC
Track: Blaine County 48h
Car: Vapid Bullet (required)
Customs: On
Restricted Modifications: Tires have to be Sports-Tires of your choice.
Laps: 27 (96~ minutes, including pitstops)
Time: Current
Weather: Current
Estimated runtime: Aiming for a total time of 2 hours max.
Mandatory Pitstops: 2 (3 Minutes each)
FPS restrictions: I'm asking everyone to cap their fps at 60, out of respect for those who cannot reach high fps and to not give anyone an unfair advantage. This will not be controlled or anything, I'll just trust everyone to please do that.
This race introduces a Formula 1 DRS System inspired Feature and an alternative take on Pitstops. It will be held on a track made for this event, combining parts of BC24H and BCNW to specifically suit my idea for this race. I highly recommend you take a look at it BEFORE you sign up to make sure I don't have to listen to any moaning about the track being too easy, too boring or anything of the sort. There will be lots of full-throttle action.
Under normal circumstances you're not allowed to use the curbzone. There will be a certain measure point (see picture below) where our DRS-Master will measure your distance to the car driving in front of you.
If you are within 2 seconds of the car in front of you, you will then be given permission to use the following curbzone for the entirety of the straight, while the driver in front of you has to use the normal road and is not allowed to cross the white line past the first curb. He is NOT allowed to use any of these specially placed curbs.
However, should the car in front of you also be within 2 seconds of the car in front of HIM at the measure point, he will also be given permission to use it.
It may sound complicated, but it really isn't. If you're within 2 seconds of the car in front of you at the measure points, you have permission to use the curbline, simple as that. Don't be afraid to ask if you have any questions on this.
The use of the curbzone will be prohibited for EVERYONE in the first 2 laps.

DRS Overtaking Concept
Using this line will, as probably all of you already guessed, make you go faster than taking the normal road to the left of the white line. For those who don't know of the DRS System used in Formula 1, i recommend checking out this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yE3khtKZGg) where it's quickly explained at around 1:25min.
To mimic this system, I used props to create a curbline on the right side of the long highway-straight. The Curbzone is seperated from the normal road with a white line that is following the entire straight.

Pitstops
[/a]This race will feature a different approach to taking pitstops.
Each team has their own pitbox, which will be able to fit all 3 cars of a team. Once you entered your box with all 4 wheels as shown in the example below, you have to remain in your box for 3 minutes to fulfill one of your 2 mandatory pitstops. The Pit-Master will be letting you know when you can continue your race after you entered your box. You're allowed to carefully readjust your car after entering your box to make sure your teammates have enough space to enter if they choose to do so while you are in there as well.
Use those 3 minutes to take a toilet break, grab something to drink, rest your hands or whatever. Please refrain from getting out of your car. Pitboxes will be assigned randomly. Afterwards you drive out of your box on the other side and follow the road to get back on the highway, exit (and entry) is highlighted by flags.
Should you choose to take an extra pitstop for a quick repair, you will still have to drive through YOUR assigned box. Please refrain from respawning to repair your car. Only respawn if your car is in an unrecoverable position.

Teams
There will be up to 9 teams with 3 drivers each.
You will be signing up as either one of the 9 teamleaders, or as a normal driver. As a teamleader you decide the sponsor and carcolors and you have the final word on decisions to be made by your team in terms of starting grid.
Teammates will NOT be chosen. Those who signed up as a normal driver will be randomly assigned to one of the teams, while i roughly try to keep an eye on balance.
Please be sure you can make it to the race if you sign up as a teamleader. It would suck if the one who chose the sponsor and colors would suddenly drop out. I won't get mad if anyone has an emergency ofcourse but you get what I'm saying.
Besides the individual winner, i will also calculate the final points for each team to determine a winner team, so fight for every position!
I'd like to ask every teamleader to send me a screenshot to represent their team. This doesn't have to be a teamscreenshot, since teams will be assigned pretty late, but it should at least show the car in it's final colors. I'll add those screenshots to the opening post.

Starting Grid
While i want people to give it their all, this won't be a complete tryhard event. Standard grid with 2 rows, 1 carlength between each position. I will simply randomize the grid and then make sure that every team has a somewhat similar average starting position. Each team will get 3 positions and it's up to them to decide who will start in which of their 3 assigned positions.
Communication
Everyone will have to be in Teamspeak, a microphone is not neccessary but recommended. My co-host Prutoog (thank you!) agreed to take over the Teamspeak part of being a host.
