So this idea came to me a while back, but I never tried it before today at the LTS event, and that idea is: why not rig GTA bets online? It is simple enough to do especially with multiple people. Racing/free for all games seem to have the best payouts because you can bet on others besides yourself. Find the person with the worst odds/highest payout if they win, then bet large on that person and let them win. I think only one person needs to bet $100 on themselves in order for this to work. It might be the most efficient way to make money in a short time especially if you just use a small stretch of road as a race. This should work nicely because the betting cap has been raised to $10k as of the 1.17 update and not just the LTS event. Reap the benefits while you can, because this is not exactly an old principal I am proposing here. Chances are this will get patched by next update. I find it easier to read betting odds in decimal format myself. You can change how you read out bets in the online options section. Here is a website I found helpful to understand betting odds: support.skybet.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37/~/fraction-and-decimal-pricing Also tell me what you think about this! Is it cheating? Is it useful? Will you use it to make money maybe? All ideas, comments, advice, and insight are welcome! I would like to credit @alfislegend and @driftin who helped me test this idea.

Personally I only see this as cheating if you're the kind of person who cares about stats. I don't give a toss about them.
It's a way of making money online and that's just fine.

The official LTS playlist event is really easy to make money off of since it has double cash going, plus there is the free $2000 to bet that you and Doc were talking about earlier.

What @alfislegend said is true for this weekend. Get lots of your friends, coordinate team betting, play out the timer on the event clocks, and then finish the round. This will work well because you do not have to even use your own money this weekend to bet if you do not want to. I think with more people you get more free money to bet from rockstar (outlined here: socialclub.rockstargames.com/news/article/52323/the-last-team-standing-event-weekend-in-gta-online)Coordinating team betting (I will need feedback on this because I only used this method with 3 people so far): Leave team balancing off and everyone but one person jump to team 1 so as to lower the odds on the team 2 winning which will raise the payout on team 2 should they win. Then everyone bet on team 2 who has only one person and thereby the lowest odds/highest payout with exception of one person on team 1 who will bet on team 1 so that betting will not get cancelled at the start of the game. You can round robin in the lobby to be the person who has to lose their bet so that everything is fair.

parksguardWe should test the timer some time. If you kill instantly, you get only $500 or so dollars, but around 4 minutes in you get $2500-4000. If we find an area around one or two minutes where we get the same payouts, we could almost double the cash per minute.

After 4 minutes it was 6k, before 4 minutes it was 3k.

pretty sure the betting odds on people goes down the more bets that are placed on them

The odds go down by a lot, even if you placed your bet (which isn't irl) they go down if more people bet on 1 person. Started yesterday in a race with the odd 4.0 (place 1$->4$ back), me and someone else had both 10k on me and the odd went down to 1.4..

2.0 or 1.6 is a good enough quick payout to make it worth the effort of doing this

So the payout would be 4K and I think 1.4 is the lowest too so at worst you make 4k a race doing this? Thats still faster that any normal mission. Maybe if someone bets on themselves and you take turns winning you can get some better odds.

Last night Parks and I were 2v1ing driftin in the LTS event playlist, and when we bet 10k on ourselves we earned 6k. 1.6 payback for a five digit number is pretty sweet.

Me and my local friends did this a long time ago, and now that the bet limit is $10k instead of $2.5k, I can see this making a big comeback.
Two people must bet, but only one person has to be bet on. Betting on one person obviously lowers the return on the bet, so the way me and my friends did it was rotate on who would lose money. They would bet big on themselves, we would bet on the person who would win. We did this usually on parachuting jobs.
But it felt like cheating, so we never really did it again, and the gains weren't worth the load screen times.
And I use the Money Line system, it's pretty straightforward to figure out.
