Explanation of Elo Ratings:
The Elo rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players in competitor-versus-competitor games such as chess, a number of video games, association football, gridiron football, basketball, Major League Baseball, Scrabble, Snooker and more.
The difference in the ratings between two players serves as a predictor of the outcome of a match. Two players with equal ratings who play against each other are expected to score an equal number of wins. A player whose rating is 100 points greater than their opponent's is expected to score 64%; if the difference is 200 points, then the expected score for the stronger player is 76%.
The higher the racer's chance of winning, the less points they will score if they win (and the more they will lose if they lose). This doesn't mean that only the racer who comes 1st will gain points, but usually half of the racers will gain points and half will lose points.
In GTA 5 racing, everyone starts at 1000 elo.
Placements
The first 5 races each person competes in will be placement races, I keep track of the necessary stats for placements on the spreadsheet. After each person finishes their first 5 races they could have either a drastic increase or drastic decrease in their elo, but for most people it'll only be a slight change.
