End of season races and stuffsSo this Friday, we have the awards, but after that we have the Season 7 preview.
For newbies, it's simple - we go to a yacht dressed all suavely, like characters in a Bond film. We do the awards, results of which only myself,
The_Bad_Loser , and
redlaserbm will know before hand (and Gamerererererererererererer, rerererererer, errrr only will know the Redwood Rookie award - so not even strategy group gets in on this shit). We do the awards, Cloud disables security so we can blow each other the fuck up, and then we go do a race with S7 cars on an S7 track.
Some if not all of you would have seen the Season 7 thread; so the cars are no surprise.
Using our advanced wind tunnel facilities, we have indicative downgrades for the S7 cars but we'll be taking feedback after the event to help with balance.
The track will be Kloden's Spa Short, and the cars will be as follows:
Itali GTB (Eng 4/Trans 4/No Turbo)
Vapid FMJ (Eng 4/Trans 4/No Turbo)
Grotti Turismo R (Engine 3/Trans 4/Turbo)
Ocelot Penetrator (Full upgrades)
Overflod Entity XF (Full upgrades)
Pegassi Reaper (Full upgrades)
Emperor ETR 1 (Full upgrades, no livery)
Bravado Banshee 900R (full upgrades; power stripe livery only)
Kloden's Spa Short suits supers, but I've heard from a few people that they miss the variable weather and so where possible a few of those tracks will sneak back in. But really it's just an excuse to go out and see how these cars feel on track.
Where possible, can you let me know what you're racing so I can note it beforehand and use it to rig the random grids (mostly TBF I'll be throwing Ze Germans and Darn and stuff up the back).
The safety car incident at Tunnel VisionI've thought long and hard (settle..!) about this, and basically I think the only resolution is to close pits under SC.
The decision at the time was the wrong one, taken for all the right reasons but the basic problem is, we don't want much time under SC. Every lap is time spent not racing, and whilst 2 laps might be feasible in the event of a disconnection and badly positioned car, for an accident it's taking up precious time.
But I don't have an "FIA Steward" type who can help assess the situation and report calmly, nor would I expect someone to volunteer. Under SC we can manage things, and have done. But opening the pits just pushes us beyond what the game can provide us in terms of support, and that's not fair on you guys or me.
Season 6 had some significant milestone events, and I'm not happy it ended under a cloud (pun!) so I wanted to restate some of the moments that to me made it stand out:
*
cloudmcshort 's first win after 5 seasons (scrub)
*
obihoernchen 's first podium
*
FriendlyBaron taking the win after an intense battle with Iceman at Monza:
*
Sarah winning her first race at BNCW Premium
*
michiski22 got 3 podiums, including a second place finish
* Every single team scored points!
*
positivetension ended the season with a 4 in a row points scoring streak, a massive improvement on last season!
*
key, aka keybab, entered as a reserve, was promoted to a full race seat when kebab's scrubbery reached its peak, and scored a massive P6 at Del Perro GP!
There are lot of other stories here, so many of them good, so just remember the things you achieved this season and, that it's V-fuckin'-8 baby, yeah.
