Grotti F1 2017 - Rule-Set Specification
The following rule-sets have been added to the main thread:5. Car UpgradesOFFROAD tyres & Neons are NOT ALLOWED in any of the event races! There are no other upgrade restrictions!
Safetycar Driver: DV8R Any event involving atleast 4 cars in a collision OR unexpected situation that disrupts the race may result in the deployment of a safetycar. The SC deployment results in the pack slowing down and forming up behind the SC with the current raceleader being the first car behind the SC.
Overtaking is NOT ALLOWED during safety car period.
Cars that have been lapped by the leaders will get a signal to unlap themselves once the field has settled behind the safety car. Once everybody is in the right order behind the safety car it will be called in and the race is then open from the finish line or a prior defined SC line.
Pitstops under safetycar conditions are ALLOWED.
Drivers taking a pitstop can be overtaken by drivers on the track! The pitting driver is NOT ALLOWED to gain any positions towards drivers infront of him that stayed on the track by taking a pitstop. When rejoining the track the pitting driver has to slowly merge into his new position in the pack. 1. OPTION 1 or OPTION 2
Each driver will have to perfrom either of the two pit strategy options mentioned below under "race strategy options" during a race!
FAILING TO COMPLETE EITHER OPTION WILL RESULT IN A TIME PENALTY OR RACE DISQUALIFICATION!
2. Short/Long pitstops
The two strategy options will consist of different amounts of short and/or long pitstops. (Long = With Respawning at a defined checkpoint, Short = Drive Through (Without Respawing))
3. Pit Timing
Each driver will have to perfrom atleast one pitstop in the 1st half of the race AND 1 pitstop in the 2nd half of the race.
Pitstops open at lap 4! Pitting in the last lap is not allowed on any track!
5. Pitstop Announcment (Voice)
Every driver will have to call out their pitstops on teamspeak by saying:
"Your Name" + Pitstop Nr. + Short OR Long
(e.g. Zan-Cudo Option 1: ovivoJR P1 Short, ovivoJR P2 Short, ovivoJR P3 Long) (e.g. Zan-Cudo Option 2: ovivoJR P1 Long, ovivoJR P2 Long)
5. Pitstop Announcment (Text)
If you are not using a microphone you need to type your pits like this:
Pitstop Nr. + S OR L
(e.g. 1L (1st pitstop long) OR 1S (1st pistop short) etc.)
6. Safetycar Conditions
Pitstops under safetycar conditions are ALLOWED.
1. Zan-Cudo (40 Laps)
Option 1: 2 Short + 1 Long
Option 2: 2 Long
2. Mirrors Edge (31 Laps)
Option 1: 2 Short + 1 Long
Option 2: 2 Long
3. Yellow Jack (45 Laps)
Option 1: 2 Short + 1 Long
Option 2: 2 Long
4. Monaco (50 Laps)
Option 1: 3 Short
Option 2: 2 Long
5. Montreal (56 Laps)
Option 1: 3 Short + 1 Long
Option 2: 1 Short + 2 Long
6. Hill Ary's Clinton (41 Laps)
Option 1: 2 Short + 2 Long
Option 2: 3 Long
7. Cluck'in Bell (60 Laps)
Option 1: 2 Short + 1 Long
Option 2: 2 Long
8. Exit 4-A (37 Laps)
Option 1: 2 Short + 2 Long
Option 2: 3 Long
Every fulltime driver that qualified for the event will choose his favorite team (+ an alternative choice) which he wants to drive for this season. After every driver has picked a team we will see who ends up in which team. If there are more than 2 drivers signed up for one team, the drivers with the quicker sign-up laptime get to choose their team first! The same procedure goes for the 11th team that is still without a sponsor and livery! All incidents will be investigated following: "The Rules of Racing"
1. Investigation Referral If there are any incidents that a driver wants to seek clarification on, they are allowed to contact ovivoJR (Host) to start an investigation on the incident. An investigation referral has to be made directly after the race. Elsewise the final result will be permanent.
2. Video-ProofTo proof an incident the applicant has to provide video-footage of the accident that occured. 3. ParticipationThe applicant of an investigation has to be directly involved into the incident. It is NOT ALLOWED to start an referral on an incident you have not been part of or directly been affected by. Curb-Surfing can be reported by any participant! 4. Independent Race-Committee The organiser will contact an independent race-committee (crew members not involved or affected by the incident) to judge the situation. The committee will consist of 3 members. They will give their informed consent on the incident and come to a result that will either confirm a certain "penalty" for the driver at fault OR declare the report as a "racing incident" with no further actions. 5. PenaltiesGrid Penalty - The driver will receive a defined grid penalty for the next race which will be applied after the qualifying.
Drive Through - Drive through the pits without respawning.
Time Penalty - A defined amount of time will be added to the overall racetime of the driver. His final position will be adjusted accordingly.
Race Disqualification - The final result of a driver will not be counted. He will lose all points achieved during the race. Drivers behind the disqualified driver will move upwards in the final table.
Event Disqualification - A driver will be completely disqualified from the further participation in the event.6. NotificationA driver will be notified that an investigation has been started regarding an incident involving him.

Yeah, not going to bother even posting my time. Looks like a well run event by everyone, but when it's this hard to even get in, it really kills the fun. As I stated above you should post your time even if you don´t think it is viable. You never know who drops out + you earn eligibility to be a reserve driver once you posted a laptime! I don't want to be a reserve or join in half way through. Seems like almost as big of a waste of time as me racing on Hookah was Monday. Have fun everyone.

It prepares everybody for the task of handling this difficult car. You have time until Sunday 6pm UTC to improve your time or sent in your current time. I know that there are reserve driver times in the list that will drop out and could allow you to make the cut. I do honestly think that if you want to make it into the event you could easily do so by putting in as much practice as all the others have. Everybody has the same chances to make it. Sure it needs some dedication but that is what I want to see! In the end it is your decision what you choose to do. I can only advise you to post your laptime.

For example I planned to team up with Ganjalo but if he's in top10 and i'm close to the cut, let's say 21st, that's pretty unlikely to happen.

I would like to reiterate what baron said ovivoJR Anybody is free to report an incident, whether they were involved or not. The more reports, the better we can make the crew. If an event host does not want to take action on an incident, that's fine, just send it to a commissioner instead for review. but if that is your choice I am fine with that. Just like for SAGTC

Just like for SAGTC I just want to amend this a bit (and tag endersai to see) - Event hosts can keep the report rule where it must be done by a person directly involved in the incident (or maybe it's someone cheating, exceeding track limits, not taking pitstops etc, technically anyone is involved in those - use judgement).
In the case you witness an incident which does not fall under the above, you have two options as a participant: - Send the footage to someone who was involved so they can use it themselves to report to the event host if they so wish And / Or - Send a report to Commissioners to be reviewed at the crew level, and we will deal with it from there as appropriate.

On SC: Are you actually going to wait until all the unlapping cars have finished unlapping themselves and caught up to the field again? If yes, whats the reason behind that? It's not done like this in irl f1 is it? Might not be the only reason but it's bound to cause issues.

For example I planned to team up with Ganjalo but if he's in top10 and i'm close to the cut, let's say 21st, that's pretty unlikely to happen. Real life F1 allowes lapped cars to unlap themselves. This rule is to prevent situations like we had them in season 1 on Cluckin Bell. In this race cloudmcshort and his direct competitor on track (about 5 sec ahead or so) were separated by the SC so that Cloud lost a complete lap to the other driver b/c he got picked up by the SC and the other car didn´t. This was highly unfair and to prevent such situations in the future cars that have been lapped will be allowed to unlap themselves. The SC period will end once everybody is in the right order behind the SC. This is also to prevent backmarkes interfere with battles in the front. The likelihood of a late SC in F1 is very small so this will not affect races in a way it seems. And waiting for roughly 1-2min until everybody has done the lap will not extend the racetime to much. If you want to race with Ganjalo you both should post the same team as your favorite. I won´t force anybody to drive with somebody they don´t want to drive with. So if you want to race with a specific driver both of you should favor the same team. Just like for SAGTC Rule will be adjusted! What I want to avoid is that drivers to report incidents that others did solve on track. For example teammates have a crash with each other. They decide that the driver at fault does not have to wait b/c it would hurt the team even more. After the race a not involved driver decides that he could gain a position if he starts an investigation on the driver that did not wait. I would like to reiterate what baron said ovivoJR but if that is your choice I am fine with that. Will embed this into the rule adjustment!

Adjusted rule #3 in the Penalty System section based on feedback:
3. Participation
Every driver is allowed to seek clarification on any incident occured during the races. Is the applicant not directly involved in the incident he seeks clarification on he can still start a referral. The Race-Committee will then inform the affected drivers about this investigation. They will then have to give a statement about their view on the situation. Should all drivers involved agree to not further investigate the situation, the incident will be handled as a "racing incident with no further action".
Is the applicant not satisfied with the decision of the Race-Committee they can send a report to our Commissioners (FriendlyBaron Sugar_Free_Nos lewjen (smithyonetwelve) ) to be reviewed at the crew level, and they will deal with the investigation from there.

Ovivo has articulated the concerns we had with the SAGTC ruling and i subsequently discussed it with Baron. It's not ideal that we have to stop people abusing the referral process, but the inference here should be that we have seen it abused. Plus did anyone watch Senna and cheer for Prost running to the stewards at Suzuka? (Except Nicholas Prost ofc)

Was that a mistake? No that was not a mistake. I keep 2 spots for drivers that would have made the cut but havn´t been able to make the sign up stage due to vacations or such. So for the moment I am planning to have 22 drivers. The other 2 spots currently serve as backup spots.

Hey Ovivo ! I couldn't participate to your event, I'm in a very bad period of my life, I'm not really in mood to play GTA and I dont really have time for it. I'm not gonna send my laptime, I'm not sure to be in pace actually, and even If I am, I'll can't play any race of the event. But thanks for thinking of me. The previous Grotti F1 was a really cool GTA experience for me and I'm sure you guys are gonna enjoy this one too. (Awesome trailer.) Cya!
