So, I'll have to ask here first. Is it possible / a good idea for me to join you even with only one or two hours actually driven, or should I try the game for a bit longer first?
While I already bought PCars2, I haven't had time to even play it once. My Logitech G27 is only at home where I'm only for the weekends, and last weekend I was very busy (had to help my parents setup a new laptop, both SAGTC & MCEC races, and a sunday full of orchestra band rehersals). My computer at university (which is where I'm during the week) is far off from even the minimum requirements (i5-2400, HD6950), and on top of that I don't have my G27 here, only a controller.
I won't be able to try the game for more then maybe two hours before the event, as I come home pretty late on Fridays (an hour of traveling time doesn't help either).

I'm fine with it mr Beta, some people play on controller and thus have abit less control over what the cars do compared to a steering wheel user. So some of them are already a hazard on track, ahum myself Also my HD died recently and i have to fully redownload the game by friday. so im not up to par to the people that are putting in the practise right now either way. Remember that this is an event for people to be together, hang out on TS, and have fun together... Theres no big price check at the end, theres no gold looking trophy... only lots of laughter and tire squeeking

so quick question... is it forced to have manual gearing on your car and no traction control, or is automatic gearing a-ok. I read the OP several times but I guess I can't find it

I dropped graphics quality on that machine as well, in favor of 144fps. Also GTA looks pretty nice even on lowest settings IMO Can't wait for aftermarket rx vega 56 cards to be available, to then put the HD7970 into this university pc. Downloading as we speak! Side question: I hope you guys already figured out, does framerate affect vehicle performance / network lag or is this game properly coded? you gotta ask these questions, we started with gta after all...

Looking at the times on the Time Trial boards, it seems like there will be quite a pace difference in this event between drivers, looks like especially those with a wheel are significantly faster by up to 5 seconds per lap(!). I'd just like to say that we should be very careful in those first laps - people will be using different lines and the breaking points will be very different from driver to driver.
