Hi everyone !
Over the last week-end, I was testing tracks created by other crew members, and because testing tracks isn't and mustn't be as competitive as regular racing, I wanted to have an experience of it in first person since we can now enjoy this new point of view thanks to the new generation version of the game ! And guess what ... It was a-ma-zing !
Driving a convertible Carbonizarre for example felt so freaking good, I was genuinely amazed and decided to experience it with more cars and more tracks ! I also tried to convince more and more people to have full races in first person ! I was difficult since a lot of you guys think it's pretty hard to race in first person and that your spatial awareness is so poor, it would led to many crashes which is obviously not fun when you race ... But thank god, some guys (lewjen (smithyonetwelve) Lupaciaš Pardonias) agreed to follow me over a full racing playlist in first person view only and they loved it !
We had fantastic battles ! One of the things I especially enjoyed among others was the visual quality of the game which allows you to enjoy the beautiful interiors of the cars you're driving but also the look of the cars you're battling against with sometimes the warming sun of Los Santos or in a very wet night, under rain.
This was so awesome Denny and I decided to save some clips of it in order to let you witness how good first person racing can be :
As you can see, first person racing offers you a new experience, it's not about being as fast as regular third person, but having a more intense experience of racing. Hitting the apex in first person feels a bit more rewarding, you'll have a much better feeling with your car, overtaking or being overtaken looks fantastic !
Feel free to try a full playlist of first person racing with some crew members and you'll see how good it can be !
Here are just some tips to make sure you'll have a good experience :
- You have to remove your tinted windows to have a better view on the side. This will allow you to have a better approach to every corner in first person but also being able to watch someone overtaking you and think about how you'll approach the next corner !
- You'll have to be more patient. Like I said, you won't be as fast in first person especially on your first races, it will even feel a bit weird for you and you might even be a bit frustrated, but it's normal, you'll need some races to adapt !
- I'm also talking about patience because at the start of a race, there will be many other drivers who have the same reduced point of view which means you can't stick to someone's rear bumper or unexpectedly change lanes. Give some space, be patient.
- You'll have to love your map and learn how to use it as often as you can to have more clean battles.
- You won't need to always pick the fastest cars of each class. As you can see in the videos, we had fantastic battles using Dominator v Phoenix, and then Cheetah v Entity v Turismo. We also had races with Banshee, Carbonizarre, Surano, Comet. The mix creates an even better atmosphere and experience !
- The faster your car is, the more intense it will be ! That's why, in my opinion sports and supers will give you the best experience of first person racing with this
I feel like more and more people like first person racing (tjezcā», elmister, ChrisDE22 (?), double_s92(?)) and I'm really looking forward to see more of first person racing (I'm actually even thinking of creating a event) but also your opinion on first person racing !
