A shot has no grounds. Microsoft has a very clear history of poor consumer products. Microsoft can put facades and shiny objects all over their house built on the sand. But in the end it's still built on sand. The head of MS Studios, Phil Spencer was a spreadsheet and office suite designer. Enoungh said.

Friends and IP's, are another topic.
No matter how many friends or Halo 3, etc. could stop the Red Ring of Death. Lol (that is a joke, but an example of bad hardware.)
Currently, a majority of games for next have been very lackluster, unoriginal, or an port of a last gen title. So, as far as original IP's Splatoon has been the only one in years!
Xbox Live is better than PSN, because people have been paying for it since 2002. MS has no excuse for Xbox LIVE to be subpar than PSN.
The way games are being made has evolved, not just digitally, but in the process they are made. Nintendo has the most experience making games by a long shot, but when it comes to MS Studios, they are the baby.
