As much as I liked the old shoutbox it's clear there was a lot of content posted there that some would see as wrong or distatsteful and it could give a bad impression to people looking to join considering it's on the homepage. Id like it back but only with complete moderation which isn't practical, time-worthy nor feesable, so I don't think the shoutbox should or will return

Now it's gonna have an actual purpose. That's good.

So only commissioners can post in the announcement box, but so far only general and ps4 related stuff have been posted. How will this work for all consoles? How will you (commissioners) decide what events to "promote"?

If I could suggest this; (Just my thoughts really >~<) If the shoutbox were to comeback, we could have a limit to the amount of posts made in 5-10 minutes from everyone?
Aswell as why can we not have 2 seperate shoutboxes? is it like, when editing the script for the fourms you can only have 1 box?
If thats the case I can (or some people I know) Can help with manually adding another shoutbox to the bottom of the page by directly changing the HTML code for the page ._. But thats maybe too far...
But I won't be fighting or making a fuss about anything, I'll just go with the flow >.> Slack is quite nice for the dedicated NoDoer

I never claimed that you would stick to ps4 only. Your 360 event promotion was posted after my message. Again, I was just curious to how you decide what events to promote. Surely you're not going to post every single NoDo event.

Not trying to speak for Trowa, or anyone, but he told me that was the intention. And with the new system a commissioner has to look over it anyway.

Your post was made after I posted the first 360 event which was Jackimo's Formula 360 event(which is now full) and before the second one. If you simply scroll up a little bit you can clearly see that I am not lying. I intend to promote any event that needs promoting. Probably not every event that is currently running but with the new event submission board ALL new events will be approved by commissioners before going live. With that in mind it should be fairly easy for us to promote said events when we move the threads to the appropriate boards. If anyone feels their event could use some promoting feel free to message a commissioner.

I never used it seeing as im 99% on mobile but imho i much rather like having the slack chat area for general chat all in one place. Plus it has more history so you can catch up on a convo

I like the idea of promoting events that struggle to get attention/discovered.

As a relative newbie I felt the shoutbox did the Crew a disservice. There was no filter on what was being posted - and I don't just mean offensive content, I mean that the stuff that was in there involved a lot of talking in the third person about oneself which has since the dawn of time has been frowned upon. Whilst arguments could be made to try and shoehorn common sense into shoutbox posts the fact that it wasn't applied in the first place suggests too little, too late.
In the absence of a compelling reason to have the shoutbox in its old iteration over the new one, I would vote to keep it the way it is now. That it's promoting events etc highlights how inclusive and social the crew actually is and how organised we are. We want people to respond to that, right, and to get involved more?
I fail to see how the old format served us positively, or put the best Nodo foot forward.

I voted get rid of it altogether, but with the idea of making a more elegant announcement system. Something at the top that rotates through various announcements. Dunno if there's something like that available or if any nodo-ers are talented enough and willing to make something like that, but that's my $0.02. If that's not possible, then keep it as is currently.

Talking to some people in game chat, I mentioned that the forums seem quiet lately. The person I was talking to said that he doesn't go on the forums anymore because the shoutbox was removed. Just putting it out there.
