Bonjour fellow dominators. A few of us regulars have noticed that everyone in the crew is progressing in speed extremely quickly, no doubt due to the forum activity + good crew members helping each other out in line and car choices. The only thing that is coming with this speed is a rise in crashes and failed over-zealous passes especially in 16 player crew races. Obviously this will always happen now and again but i believe that with a few pointers / techniques easily taught then most of these incidents can be erased.
So in conjunction with a couple of other regulars i was considering running a couple of sessions to help anyone wanting to learn proper passing and defending techniques. one to one if necessary or in larger groups. Be interested to hear some feedback / if anybody is interested.
Obviously only limited to Xbox 360 guys as i have no recording software

Definitely need help on defending people from passing me. I can overtake easy enough, but I cannot stop others from doing it to me.

I'll run with you sometime soon. I'm awful at racing. It doesn't help that I'm not on a lot so I never really get into a rhythm. but getting some basics would greatly help.

Yeah I'd like to do this Think I raced with you + some others yesterday and did a little better than I expected so I must be getting better, though it didn't help that I accidentally went in my comet twice XD I'm online till around 3.30 this afternoon UK time if you're available

This would probably help me judging by some feedback I have got in the past few weeks. Racing against competitive people is something I just can't seem to get my head around. Thing is I have over 1500 online races but against randoms it's something completely different.
I find that random races I am faster then 95% of players. The simple fact that most random players are well below average means that racing against the average player means the racing experience is quite different then against crew members of close, equal or better skill. Crew races are non catch up and slip stream which adds to the difficulty in adjusting.
Then you add in the lag of racing online when we're all from different parts of the world and the issues increase even more. With the characteristics of the tracks and game physics we're faced with it causes even more issues. GTAV just isn't made for competitive racing but anything we can do to discuss and improve it l am all for. Nobody likes getting messages telling them that they shouldn't have raced a certain way or done something considered unsportsmanlike.

This is great, I had thought of raising something similar. Though I've improving, I could definitely still do with some hands-on help. I tend to do pretty well in random lobbies but still not too well in crew races. I was thinking that maybe some rally races in which the student (passenger) gets to sit and learn from the teacher (driver) on some of the more common tracks. Just watching what lines are taken etc would probably be a lot of help...

Have been racing a bit with reservoirdoc lately and think we're a kind of similar level, though he's generally better than me most of the time! Will add you next time I'm on and seek you out!
