I say this because the game looks like it's supposed to be one of those miniature arcade racers, so I had expected more agility and responsiveness. 2. Yes. You say ignorance is bliss in this case? I'll take your word for it, but do let us know how the final project pans out.

Thanks for the feedback guys Dont worry too much about the fine tuning of the car for now. It's hard to get it right without a proper track to drive it around but I'm with those that feel the turning radius is a little too large. This is more of a template rather than a reference for the final thing. Also for those interested in seeing how this progresses I try to stream on twitch whenever I'm working on the game. Another build is coming soon(TM) that focuses more on getting core art assets in place and figuring out exactly where the style of the game is going to be heading.

Build 6 "GFX Update" is now added to the first post. This is the first step towards figuring out the overall art style for the game aswell as experimenting and learning how to best set up destructible objects. A lot of new models have been added and I've drawn some "roads" for you to follow if you so desire, in addition to changing how some stuff is rendered.

It is nice but the cars specs do bother me a little bit but i'm not going to push you to fix it cause i bet its a lot of hard work and there is no reason to do so. Keep those builds coming !
EDIT: Also if you could try to add a looping or something. Would be really cool

I obstructed the spawn with barriers and it caused the game to freeze trying to respawn

I just tried putting a bunch of props around the spawn and all it did was send the props flying when I respawned. I'm not doing anything fancy with the respawning either so I really dont know why you're having that problem.

Is double-posting in my own thread alright? Yes? No? Maybe? Anyway I couldnt help myself and went ahead and started making a new car. This also gives me a proper chance at getting new mechanical movement code started and, most importantly, see if my physics need tweaking to support different setups better. And while I was trying to think of a way to show the new car I got this idea to take an action shot so... here, enjoy the eyecandy until I have another build ready.

ShroomGames I havent put up a new build yet so currently you cant try it out. In other news the friction code has gotten a small update. You can now move very slowly without constant wheelspin (the temporary fix is now no longer needed. Yay!) aswell as climb slopes easily from a standstill. It still needs some tweaks to bring some of my friction curve code back into play but it's feeling way better now. Also a bi-effect of this fix means that the car wont fall into a small feedback loop where less traction = even less traction that could occur. If you remember a few builds back I changed it so it allows for "more aggressive acceleration/braking". Well, on the flip side of improving the code and fixing oversights like the one mentioned above, I think some of the traction needs to be nerfed because now it got way too easy to control the cars

Build 7 is now uploaded and added to the first post. A new car has been added and the physics have been updated even more. A lot of oversights have been fixed and some logic has been improved. And one of the oversights/bugs have become a feature. Believe me when I say that if the steering worked completely as originally intended it would be a pain to control the car.

The project is still progressing at a steady rate. The car physics are improving bit by bit and the main coder, one of my friends, is slowly but surely getting more functionality brought into the game.
I just wanted to let it be known that any suggestions posted here will be considered and discussed, no matter how silly they might be, as long as they're relevant to what we're trying to make. So even though I might not address your suggestions directly I'm still trying to keep track of what's being said.
Also if tweaks are requested please explain why you want said tweak, it helps with understanding how other people see certain things (just us 2 is a terribly small sample size) so that we could possibly bring those ideas into other areas too. If said tweak is simple enough I might give it a shot of my own, if it's rather complex it will come later.
