It's coming back.
But not for a while.
The date of the first race is going to be 7th February 2016, exactly 1 year after the first race of season 2. The general time frame for the 10 round championship will therefore be approximately the same as season 2.
It will happen simultaneously across all current gen platforms and the rules/tracks/cars will be identical on them all.
There will be harsher penalties for failing to turn up to rounds but more leniency for unfortunate disconnections.
You will not be able to choose which GT class you race in. You are also not guaranteed a place in the event by posting here.
Teams will as usual be selected randomly.
Those are the only details so far, so don't ask me anything else.
This thread has been created to gain an initial indicator of interest and to sign up to show your willingness to participate. At a certain period in the future these signups will be closed off and the selection process for championship candidates will begin. The exact details of how this will happen is yet to be determined but it will be based on a combination of factors including previous history in the championship, involvement in the crew or racing community at large, "clean" racing reputation, and even not having an internet connection which lags. Overall skill/pace will not be a factor for initial selection as with all NoDo events, but will be a factor for GT class allocation. Anybody who doesn't get into the main championship will have the chance to get a taste of the action with various extra events mimicking the main championship but with a variety of participants.
So that's all the information I have or am willing to give at this stage. If you're interested in being part of Season 3 of this championship post below with your chosen platform and more information will follow in the (probably distant) future.
Get hyped.
Saturday 7pm UK Time: XB1
Saturday 9pm UK Time: PC
Sunday 8pm UK Time: PS4
There will be two rounds on each with variations in a number of aspects between each round. More details on that in future but basically both races on LSGP won't be the same, and it won't just be the cars separating them.
This championship has always been more about the different vehicles used than the tracks and I really don't have the energy to go through another selection process of different circuits after BV (even if BV tracks were the basis of the initial selection). The history of the championship has been on my circuits and everyone knows them, meaning those who don't have as much time to put in won't be at as much of a disadvantage. If anyone has a problem with the track selections speak up now so I can remove you from the signup list before the main thread starts.
I can also announce that there will be 10 different classes used. We're basically cutting out the repeated sports classes from MCEC 2 and replacing them with sports classics and vans. If anyone has any opinions on car selections together with class+track combinations again speak up now before the main thread is up. I'm not going to get in a big discussion about it but I will use any thoughts to better make my own decisions on this aspect.
Finally I expect that the championship will be starting a little later than initially advertised. Possibly early march rather than early feb. What I intend to do is in early jan I'll create the main thread and tag all the signups. This thread will be used to organise all 3 platforms and will contain the full race calendar with dates, tracks, cars, and any extra information. I'll then go through the process of choosing the drivers and assigning them to a GT, finally culminating in the usual live team draw on a live stream for all three platforms. Then we'll be in full swing to get the championship sorted. As I said though I'll tag everyone who has signed up when that main thread goes up.
At the moment we have about 70 signups for PS4 with 40 for XB1 and PC. It's very possible there will be a secondary championship on PS4 to allow those who don't get in the main championship to participate in something. I expect this would be a bit smaller at 5 rounds with GT4 & GT5 so to speak (possibly 1hr races too instead of 1hr30), and take place before the regular PS4 race on alternating weeks. Details will follow in the new year though.

Okay so since there has been increasing talk about tracks for this I might as well make the decision I've been leaning towards for a while: The circuits used for MCEC 3 will be LSGP, NL, OGP, BC24 & RONR.

It's time to finalise sign-ups. If you're reading this you need to click below, read all of the blurb carefully (it contains all of the information you need to determine your participation in the championship), and then fill out the form.
Anyone who fails to do this by next week will not be considered for participation in the main championship and will have to settle for a reserve spot (no exact date, just whenever I get around to sorting through it - so basically do it now). Those who signed up as a reserve driver still need to fill in this form though.
