Event Details

The rules and regulations put forth in the following paragraphs shall be enforced by race control and the event hosts. 

Race control consists of the non-driver participants. BIGGamerer is the event host.

Participants should be on Teamspeak and in-game 15 minutes before the start of qualifying. The pre-lobby meetup for each race will be held at a location near that track's start/finish line.

The starting grid for each race will be determined by lap-times in a 2 lap non-contact race on the track on the day of the race. Qualifying will start at exactly 7PM UTC - if you miss qualifying you can still race, but will start at the back.

Per standard NASCAR procedure, the start of each race will be a double-file rolling start led by a safety car*. The pole-sitter may choose whether to start on the outside line or the inside line. Following a declaration by race control the safety car will pull off the track. The race begins when participants cross the start/finish line, at which point they may overtake.

This event uses standard NODO rules. Participants should not engage in aggressive driving with competitors who are multiple laps ahead of them. "Wiggle-boosting" is explicitly disallowed. Damaging your suspension to gain an advantage is disallowed.

Participants are expected to cap their FPS at 60. If necessary, the event hosts may take action to enforce this rule.

No offroad tires or spoilers are permitted.

Despite me 'lending' these rules, no pits will be mandatory. It's open if you need it though.

The safety car may be deployed for the following reasons:

-Any 3 car incident which poses an immediate danger to at least 1 other participant

-Any 4+ car incident

-Any incident where a participant must reset their car

-Any incident where an unoccupied car/prop/object/etc is in a dangerous location/is creating an unsafe racing environment

Only race control can deploy the safety car, and they may only do so by typing "sc" in the chat*. Following the deployment of the safety car, participants should slow down and line up single file behind the leader. No overtaking is allowed (minus cars that are crashed or otherwise off pace for an extended time). Please allow for the safety car, if available, to pick up the leader of the race. Remember that the pits are closed until race control re-opens them.

The race may end under safety car if the safety car is active or called very late in the race. Race control will do its best to ensure the race ends under normal racing conditions.

Race control will give the “1 to go” signal during a safety car period to inform participants that a restart will happen the next time they cross the start/finish line*. At this point, participants lined up in front of the leader of the race during the safety car may drive up to the back of the line before the restart--this is the Wave-around rule^. Participants that use the wave-around may NOT pit until after they cross the line for the ensuing restart. 

At a designated point on the track, the safety car will pull off, giving control of the pace of the field to the leader, and participants may overtake once they cross the start/finish line**. Restarts are single-file. The leader is not allowed to pass the safety car before the restart.

If blue flags have been made active, lead lap cars will be permitted to move to the front of the line before the restart. Race control will issue wave-arounds before moving the lead lap cars to the front^^.

Race control may wave off the restart until the next lap if the field is not properly lined up.

**Participants may freely overtake participants that crash or suffer a similar problem before the line. Race control has the final say on the legality of any overtake before the line.

^Participants who reset their car during safety car must restart at the back of the line. Exceptions will be made for participants who must respawn in order to get back on the track.

^^Cars that take the wave-around and end up back on the lead lap restart at the end of the line, even after blue flags have been made active.

Red flags may be issued by race control late in the race to ensure a possibility that the race finishes under normal racing conditions, or after numerous safety car incidents/a major safety car incident/many laps run under safety car to prevent too much of the race from being run under safety car conditions. Under a red flag, the leader must stop where they are. No overtaking is permitted.

Penalties or warnings may be assessed for minor violations of the rules, or actions detrimental to the event, either during a race or after its conclusion--usually after its conclusion. Participants who collect multiple warnings may be issued a penalty for those warnings. Participants may be disqualified for serious infractions.

Penalties for infractions are assessed on a case-by-case basis*. Penalties include but are not limited to:

- Time penalties

- Position-swapping

- Loss of championship points

The following actions are grounds for being disqualified (this list is not exhaustive):

- Attempting to manipulate the outcome of the race by intentionally crashing or doing something else stupid (no crashgates please)

- Any form of sandbagging

- Intentionally ramming/wrecking another competitor

- Repeatedly causing on-track incidents, especially if they result in repeated deployment of the safety car

Participants who are disqualified will be excluded from classification in the final results. At the discretion of the event hosts, they may be blacklisted or referred to a commissioner for further disciplinary action.

*It is possible that race control will miss a rules infraction or two if it is not explicitly made aware of such infraction. In particular, if no requests for post-race investigations are received, then it is assumed that no violations of the rules occurred.

Participants may borrow cars if necessary for a given race. Participants are advised to buy the cars if they can due to restrictions on car borrowing.
