That was a piece of work...
Let me get the negatives out of my system firts
- The track
Very problematic and surely too short with so many people. Getting lapped was horrific, because you just don't know where to go. The pitlane is good in terms of time handicap, but the design is terrible, because you're walking a way too thin line between missing the CP or crossing the racing traffic.
- Getting lapped
I had maybe 2 or 3 clean laps. I'm really sorry for some situations where I could not leave more room for getting lapped. But I'm mad about people pushing and wiping me away in the fastest chicane where you have only. one. racing. line. Guys I'm really sorry for holding you up, but in some situations you just need to be patient and accept to lose 1 or 2 seconds.
- My personal race
First lap was fine, sticked to the pack and decided to go for the 1st stop in lap 1 in hopes for more clean space. Missed the CP at the exit and decided to respawn to give way for the passing GT1s. From there my car was terrible, getting no tractions and slippery on all 4 wheels. - Has this something to do with the respawn? Or the framedrop? The car felt so much worse compared to the test sessions where I developed a somewhat decent consistency. Got wrecked several times and added own mistakes to the game, with a car in a bad shape. Had to stop at some point because of my TV switching off, and the remote was somewhere behind Mars XD, but at this point the race was already gone, so I just wanted to get the job done.
It was clear I would not race in the front, but I think I could have somewhat stayed in touch with the back of GT3 or battle for the last positions.
At least it was good to make some more big scale race experience. It was only my second race ever with such a big lobby and so long distance.
On the plus side I point to the full lobby, which was great to see. And most of all thanks to @gbob for a tremendous job of organizing this thing. You got 30 people together and interested, this thread was hot for 3 months, so let's give that guy a big can of coke! - With a better track we would have done fantastic.
So next event you organize I will surely do the outmost to participate again
And GG to everyone that sticked to the event and completet it!
Really happy about scrazor92 catching the win in GT1 and criffin123 saving the grace for our team with P5 in GT2.
