ovivoJR, good call on the events. All I'd say with stock setup is you should let people dial in the steering ratio as that's not related to performance just preference.
I really think we need to do some F1 after the race yesterday. Formula A is good but it lacks the real strategic aspect as you can, from what I can tell, use DRS whenever you want and not in DRS zone with 1s to car in front.
I think people should basically just agree with me that when Codemasters drop F1 2016, we play a season in that and I know who should drive the #33 Red Bull if I take the #3...
Oh_DarnAlso, I have some rules for the Spa event.
PenaltiespCARS has a very flawed penalty system that in a lot of instances can cause problems that didn't exist. Firstly, it has no concept of leaving the track and gaining advantage over leaving track and not gaining advantage.
Case in point - We saw the Ferrari of Kimi Raikonnen go wide into Turn 1 at Catalunya and rejoin the track without gaining a place. He probably rattled his teeth a bit too as he went over the speed humps. Later, in a Sauber v Sauber battle Marcus Ericsson went through the run off area at Turn 1 in a battle with team-mate Felipe Nasr.
Wait, what's that? Oh, the
run off area?Tracks are giving run off areas in heavy braking zones so cars who miss the braking point don't go into the unrecoverable gravel trap or low traction grass and crash. Going through one in a race is perfectly acceptable
so long as you do not gain advantage from doing it.If I am going down Kemmel with cold brakes and fuck up entry to Les Combes, I could do a U-turn and rejoin the track where I left and there's a strong chance the game will give me a penalty.
If I run wide through Blanchimont and you're behind me and I slow down, we're both fucked.
In the absence of a good penalties system, we will run on NoDo rules and the following:
1. If you miss the braking point at Turn 7 (les Combes), you must rejoin before Turn 8. If it is in battle with another driver you must not gain a position on them.
2. If you miss the braking point at Turn 19 (bus stop chicane) you must rejoin the track before turn 20. You cannot rejoin on the straight.
NOTE: For the avoidance of doubt the corners are numbered as per the Formula 1 layout of the track used on page 1 of this thread.
3. Running wide at turn 12 (Pouhoun) or through Turns 17 and 18 (Blanchimont) will not incur a penalty unless in the case of turn 18 you use it to gain speed on an opponent.
Penalties will be called out by other drivers and will result in 15s per penalty added to your time for net results. So, we're still zero tolerance for cheating - but we're not going to slow you down and risk an accident for it.
Other tracks will have penalties enabled, if this becomes a regular thing.
Tyres and pit stopsF1 rules apply here.
Two compounds are available for the race: Soft and Medium.
Drivers must use one set of each, i.e. during your pit stop you must change tyres from one compound to another.
I would ask for screenshots but if you need to cheat on this to prove you're the best, you're really not and it's a bit sad.
Options would be to run softs and then pit for mediums; run softs then pit for softs, then pit for mediums, run mediums and put on softs or run mediums then soft/soft.
Your call, just make sure you run both. There are apps I can use to check people's tyres and I can take in a lot of info driving (thanks, years of F1 practice).
