Has it affected lap times of many vehicles tho? Anyone confirm what's been done to fix?

An easy way to tell in what way they have fixed it is to listen to see if the suspension in some cars continues to make that annoying as fuck noise or if tyres can clip.
I can't test as at the moment I have been having to settle for xbox 360 story mode GTA which I got the other day xD Though I will say the framerate seems higher and smoother in this version than the XB1 version and the car physics feel slightly better? Like cars such as the coquette are no where near as bad over curbs and when pushing a car to it's limit of traction one of the tyres starts to give off tyre smoke, I don't recall this ever really happening in the PC or console versions? Probably the story mode driving physics are slightly different to the online ones? But this does suggest this was definitely not a problem till recently as the OG game has no obvious suspension problems in any cars and feels slightly better haha.

I would recommend testing your cars just in case it behaves differently, but I seriously doubt anything would have happened (unless you drive an 811 or Infernus Classic, or any other vehicles affected by the bug). Broughy mentions that the Infernus Classic has slight oversteer, but is now much more manageable.

So.
Just tested the 811 and banshee900r again after the patch.
The 811 is STILL faster.
Maybe they just gave it its old top speed back with the update, and that caused all the other bugs.
Fact is, the 811 is the fastest car in the game right now.
Need broughy to test to be sure its actually got its 132.5 mph speed back, or, if the banshee has been slowed.
Since all i can confirm for sure is that the 811 is faster than the banshee.

I really hope it's 132,5 mph again. Now it's just gathering dust in the back of my garage.

Apart from like long haul or some other bullshit race like that you ain't beating anyone decent over a "normal" race track anyway in this car so...IDK. 3mph doesn't really make any difference in the grand scheme of racing .

It's easier to shift manually with less gears to deal with. Each transmission upgrade adds another gear to the car. ...at least for me anyway (maybe I should edit out that part). nope ... it might be easier but it's slower so don't do it ...yeah I should of left that part out because it's off-topic. I wanted some feedback on this build for the Brioso. Thanks for the link CHILLI I'll post it up over there.

A tad late to the party cough but damn the game has been restored to how it was back in 2014/early 15! Things I've noticed have been improved: * Cars are less likely to jump/skip about when cutting across multiple bumps & curbs * Steering response is way more consistent, now feeling like the 30fps it was originally designed for even at 100fps+ - And it still gets the benefit of increased reliability at high framerates, so it's a proper fix
* Traction is correctly gained when the suspension limit is reached, opposed to seemingly have a mind of its own - This will take getting used to again. Steer less over bumps because cars are more than capable to out-turn themselves and spin out
* For tyre clipping cars it's less punishing to go with low profile tyres thanks to the first point above - You should be able to safely step down from offroads to, say, tuners and still have confidence over bumps now
Setup experiments
Oh my, I forgot how glorious these physics were back in the day. Quite some time ago I decided to replicate my Massacro x360 setup and it felt like crap. I went ahead and tried it out once more and now it feels just as good as it did back on old-gen. When checking some otherwise "minor" things on other cars I now find that cars are more sensitive to small changes in the setup, just like how it was back when I did the major bulk of testing that went into my document. So if a car feels odd to drive now do consider checking if it's your particular setup causing it. Currently I'm probably spending a bit too much time figuring out what to change to make the cars feel nicer to drive again. Damn I should've written down what my old setups were

This sounds bloody great because pretty much every update in late 2015-present has made some cars feel weird and floaty and horrid, Banshee 900r for example. Does this mean however that cars will be slower again? because the cunning stunt update made cars quicker over bumps etc?

So at least for now there should be no worries of cars self-boosting into another dimension.

I didn't notice any significant change in lap times, at least with the few track/car combinations I have tested since the update. I would say that now it's just easier to be consistent with a car in general, but not necessarily any faster or slower. However it does depend on the track and the car in question. There might be some odd exceptions.

CHILLI Feel free to post / dm that massacro RC setup as and when you figure it out, me and Petoli were driving it a lot at the start of FAEC championship and we had a lot of differing setups and never really settled on one that we liked a lot. Appreciate your work chilli .

Before the cunning stunts update a 36 or below was unheard of and then suddenly people were hitting 35s and 34s due to cars getting more speed from curb boosts

Now I'm not Smithy or anything, so I was getting 39s but that's exactly the same as what I was getting before the patch. But the car definitely felt better to drive.
