This is goodbye post where I sum up the event and say special thanks to all participants.
The good: the cars were as balanced as they could possibly be given they were different cars. It was relatively fun, and reserves were very helpful.
DCs: I apologize deeply to two Nicks Nick420Guy nick32563 whose score is not up there, unfortunately victims of DCs. My general rule is to restart the race only when there is more than one DC by the gridup. I again apologize.
The bad: starting was very bad, and rolling start didn't really work -- I have reservations whether it would have still worked well even if everyone was careful, due to tracks' tight nature and highly varying skill levels. I will take this into account next time
The scores: the scores were calculated (http://nodo.freeforums.net/post/195855), with these in mind: Fiyah reserved for Jacksheepe, and only team missing Jester was Bikini Universe. So I added Weeta's score there. The only difference is I made Weeta's first race result to count as one of dropped scores, as nick420guy was technically in the race. However the point count becomes equal to Swallow and tie was split on remaining scores. The problem is I am not so clear who Thinkdave was reserving for, and even if he did, I would end up with two teams that did not have 9F. In the end, I did not add his score as it really doesn't change much positions, regardless of which of three teams I put him in. So for now I think this is most fair way of doing things. But thinkdave can let me know if he was indeed reserving for a specific team, and I would love to make a change.
Again I have to apologize for the gridding process and thank everyone making it a fun event despite the problems.
Next Event: I was hoping SCE4 and probably given enough signups I could host it right away, but still, I am waiting until the new creator drops, at least. There are many other good events.
So again thanks to everyone for coming out, and this is completed. FriendlyBaron
