I find that the Kuruma flips over too much while rallying on off-road tracks with bumps and hills. Even an off road hairpin can cause problems. I think I should re-embrace the Sultan. What do you guys think??

Have you tried the armoured version? It's slower and has less traction but its much heavier so it doesn't flip around the track.

It's been suggested to me by racers that are much more skilled than I am that you should remove the side skirts, as they can clip things (?). Personally, I race with them. To me the issue is finding the right groove on the dirt roads. They are by no mean level, and often have preexisting grooves dug into them. Knowing how to ride in them and when to turn is the key to not rolling the beast. Because of it's amazing grip on dirt, you can often save yourself from a slide by feathering the throttle, and makes using the handbrake on sharper hairpins very reliable.
I've been running the Kuruma regularly around Mt. Chiliad and Mt. Josiah, and also at the Redwood Lights Track. Sometimes the Sultan is better because there isn't enough room for the Kuruma to stretch it's legs. Just like a course on tarmac, the balance of corners (and bumps) versus straights decides who will win in a Kuruma vs Sultan battle.

From what I can tell from having driven it in free-roam (I don't race much), the side-skirts don't appear to actually have collision masks It feels like the center of mass is just way too high, I much prefer the Sultan (I know nothing for sure though, don't quote me)

I switched back to the Sultan. Never really liked the Kuruma anyway, it got too annoying to keep flipping around in the middle of the track.

Best example of that is the Feltzer. Sometimes, the aftermarket rear bumper may appear to clip through the ground, and it doesn't affect performance at all.

Spoilers have different hitboxes but the body mods do nothing. This is particularly obvious if you own a feltzer bc all of its body mods clip through the ground. Sultan is more consistent due to better suspension, Kuruma has ultimate pace. Until someone comes along that can consistently outpace my sultan Ill stick with it because I dont enjoy rolling around like a pig in the mud. I also dont really do a lot of rally-x tracks but everytime I have on 360 my Sultan does more than enough to beat people who spend WAY more time than me off-roading.

I know that the front bumper of the Sandking changes the front clearance of that truck by a full foot or so. That vehicle is quite the extreme since we're talking inches or less with parts for sports cars, but the possibility of the mods actually affecting a car's clearance is very real.

Maybe but I see the Kuruma drivers putting down better or equal laps to me. I just spend a lot less time flipping. Its the same reason I dont use the Felon for racing. Honestly if you saw me drive my Sultan off-road you would say I drive like a grandpa. half throttle at most 90% of the time. I did say until someone can consistently outpace me in a Kuruma I would use the Sultan. Meaning I KNOW the Kuruma is better, the Sultan is just easier to race in. Its like Rally X training wheels compared to the Kuruma.
