I'm guessing you mean television series?
That's easy. The Simpsons. I don't care what anyone, myself included, has to say about the quality of the show's writing these days, or since around 2000. When the show was as good as it was from 1989-1999 nothing can ruin it for me. It not only tips the balance in its favour but also puts itself on a pedestal, up there with the best humanity has to offer. I'm not joking.

Okay it's hard for me to pick just one, so I'll say it's between House and Doctor Who!

Doctor Who, no question. Outside of that though, it has to be Star Trek - that is, all of them. It's all one big story basically, so I consider all of it as essentially one thing. Definitely up there though are Game of Thrones, Sherlock, True Blood, Top Gear, Firefly, Being Human, Dexter, Shameless....there's too damn many.

The Wire, for me, even with the odd 'serial killer' plotline in Season 5.
Mad Men - there has not been a better scene on television than Don's pitch for Kodak's Carousel. It's hard to believe there will be a better one either.
Rome - Cancelled due to the cost, HBO's series about the fall of the Republic under the machinations of Gaius Julius Caesar, and the rise of the Empire under his adopted son Gaius Octavius, is brilliant.

I can't decide between Mad Men and Breaking Bad, I love both so much.

It's my favourite TV series, too. It had such great dialogue and genuineness of characters. I've watched Seasons 1-8 through three times, it's been a while so it's time for a fourth round.. Other sitcoms I've watched more than once are Frasier and How I Met Your Mother. From drama series, Breaking Bad is my top choice. From all TV series I've seen, The Simpsons has probably been the most influential. Even though I haven't seen the last few seasons, it's easily the one, true animation series I've loved the most.

Peep Show and The Office are probably my favourite non-animated comedy series. Obviously The Simpsons is great and totally iconic, but Futurama takes the place of my favourite animated series. Very funny, lots of great creations, stories and homages and it does poignant better than any other animated show. The first four series of Hustle are great, light hearted entertainment. True Detective's dark humour and disturbing atmosphere were brilliant, looking forward to the next season and all the new characters and plots - it'll take something special to match the first. Breaking Bad was surpassed expectations - a few filler episodes but generally great. First couple of Homeland seasons are thrilling and the actors/sheer drama of it got me through 3 and 4. Being Human is a good, fairly obscure shout from Hosenbugler89, especially with the original cast. Life on Mars was really good as well, although Ashes to Ashes petered out a little. Not seen most of the big American series. The Wire looks the most interesting, I'll definitely watch that eventually. I like Starsky & Hutch. Any suggestions for good retro series?

This is a difficult question.Overall I'd say the series I've enjoyed the most is friends,I've watched them all atleast 3 times and I still watch an occasional show in the background.Breaking Bad is probably the best series I've ever seen and it builds up suspense like a novel,no show really compares.Notable mentions for other good series are Sherlock,24 and south park(for some laughs)

Netflix has a few of them for a pretty reasonable price(think it's €7 a month).I know you can find some things for free but I don't know of a good site with a large variety of TV shows(in good quality with no dodgy links to porn sites)for free.
