So happy I made it into the last 3 races of this event! Even won race 3 of 4 with best lap. ^_^ Thanks for hosting this unique concept. Maybe we give some love to another challenging vehicle next time? Something we over-look because it's not the best in class but provides a unique thrill to set up and master. Rusty Rebel customised for Dakar would be awesome! The fully reversed grid was a nice initiative. My win was largely due to starting in 4th or 5th place after a low result in the previous race. And also driving like Alonso between all the first turn confusion. There was quite a lot of chaos. Didn't really feel like a racing crew event at times, imho, but you've expressed that better in your own message. The tracks were also quite rough imho. I would definitely call them grade A or B but feel events should use A* races, ideally. Creators should be able to revise their tracks when there is 2-3 weeks notice before an event takes places. With that said, I had some great wheel-to-wheel action at times and it was very fair. Frame rates and lag on PS3 make bunch races in the city impossible. Maybe the next update makes it better...or even worse! With this car, most places change when someone crashes out. Textbook overtaking doesn't really happen. But putting people under pressure and waiting for them to crack is also a textbook technique. That seemed the most effective thing to do here. Now the event is over, will the top performers share their car setup? And give some driving tips?

Thanks for that. I've just changed my display name so it's a single word. Should make tagging me nice and easy now.

I was watching F1 and looks like I missed this. Was signed up as a reserve. Might have gotten in if I'd been here in time. Please use the Slack channel when hosting events. You'll normally find a few NoDo there keen to enter events. Hope I can still get into the Dakar part.

Yay, I'm in a NoDo race event! Lime Green is the colour of my Prairie at the moment...hope my team will use that colour. (It's expensive to re-paint with the pearl.)
Airport track layout looks good. Please, no Tyre Line next to the road in a contact race! Suggest using Destructible Barrier to divide the Pit Lane instead of cones. Will prevent shortcuts and the possibility of connection 'jitter' causing head-on collisions if it gets busy in there.

Sign me up for Kuruma, please! Comet should also be allowed, imho. Porsche 911 has a lot of rally heritage. (Old ones.) It's very hard to control in a rally and only 2 wheel drive. I took part and made several tracks for GTA Content Creator's Rallycross. Really fun format and a great Creator challenge as much as a driving one. Lucky Jim's RallycrossWhere is the Joker route? I don't see it on the map or in the description.

I'd be happy to drive a Prairie in this. Blaine County 24H ShortTyre Stacks should be banned from pro races. Creates debris even if nobody saw themselves hit it on their own screen. And then it's a nearly invisible hinkelstein: the bottom tyre stays in place, impossible to see or escape from if you touch it. Compact GP (LSIA)CP4 is conflicted with CP13-14. Also, CP14 should be inside the target road to make CP13 a triple arrow hairpin indicator. (Double right arrow will look like you are rejoining the broad road, not doubling back on yourself.) Criminal Records GP HYPEErm...really? (On a more serious note, a lot of concrete hairpins but no pit lane with Health. Looks too narrow and then too fast to overtake cleanly.) Downtown Compact GPLooks like a mixed surface obstacle race. A lot of solid hazards for a 12 minute race without a pit lane. Tyre Lines should be banned from pro races. (Especially at the apex of a confined hairpin line CP9! Will be carnage there on lap 1.) Mazda Raceway Laguna SecaCopied from a R* Verified race? Clever pit lane but the Health should be near the exit. That way you leave with full health even if the tight hairpin in the pit lane catches you out. Summary4 out of these 5 races have 1 or less plays! All made by the event host. Looks a bit like self promotion of some very incomplete work. Orthodox construction and very familiar locations but these are not going to race as smoothly as a NoDo event deserves, imho.

Thanks for stepping in Zoop I hope to take part. Was the original message in this topic deleted? Mine still remains. Here is the playlist from original message by Zoop (PSN: Blaack-DK). socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/playlists/playlist/xbZHLawQnEmtz-KkllZ0MgAside from some contact and some very loud, sweary people early on...this was tremendous fun! Most enjoyable racing I've had in ages. Even got a few half-decent results with lots and lots of clean wheel to wheel action. Friendly battles up and down the grid from about halfway onwards. Only the keen racers stuck around that long which made the event better and better. Would love to see more like this on PS3. Here's to the next event. *raises glass* Photo after the event! Playlist Result@smelter_nl 114 OneWalrus 79 @toxicwasteplant 68 BenMillard 54 (wewt!) @blaak-DK 38 @jimmy-nator 38 @f0x4flame 34 @mynamesreuben 0 [but had 7 points in round 5 and 8 points in round 8...R* Logic]

I'd like to be part of this. Don't actually like the Futo but enjoy NODO events and want to support more of them on PS3.

I would like to sign up as a reserve driver, please. The tracks look really well made. (Playlist link isn't working for me, though.) Thanks for the tag Alex_Drastisch I love the Dakar rally. Forgot these ordinary-looking vehicles used to race across the open desert.

A photo I took in the pre-event Freemode session: EventKobo's route was varied! A little bit of everything throughout the Raton Canyon, Cassidy Creek, parts of Mount Gordo and then the ridge line North of Sandy Shores Airfield. Took about 1 hour in total - partly because I was struggling with the Injection. Maybe it had more traction before Sports Suspension. Needs 30% throttle to avoid wheelspin in 1st gear but full gas in 2nd to get enough run-up for a couple of the climbs. Bouncing off the sides of the gulleys was crucial to get 2-wheel-drive vehicles up. The middle of the gulleys seem to have extra slippery dirt. After the event everyone was still up for off-road action! Kobo kindly let me host some routes you may have seen on YouTube. After-PartyOff-Road (Island Laps)2 minutes per lap is good. Tide was high but everyone finished - even the Bodhi! Off-Road (East Ridges)No water here. Someone uses Marriachi Tornado and nearly made it. The final climb would need a detour for that car, lol. Off-Road (East Coast)Everyone finished, even last place was just over 8 minutes. Great driving once they got going. Many thanks to Kobo for getting us together! Feel free to Friend Request me on Social Club and PSN - just include a message explaining you are in NODO and like off-roading. (My lists are usually full.)

Great to see this one crew per platform model being used by more crews. GCCC was structured the same way and it made the move to Next Gen a lot smoother.

Thanks for that KoBo_043 I'll take your advice. I turned a couple of GTAmissions routes into Point-to-Point when I was asking to join them. They ran them in Freemode before this but it set the trend of them becoming 'created' races afterwards. (GTA Mode was a logistics improvement after the limitations of standard races became apparent.) To avoid hijacking the thread I'll send them to you on Social Club. If we get through your route quickly maybe they could be added as a bonus for keen off-roaders? (EDIT) Here's a new countdown to the pre-event Freemode. That's probably the time people should aim to be available, rather than everyone arriving last minute or a bit late.

Here's a countdown to the event. That will adjust for your timezone, including any Daylight Savings Time. If it's correct you could add to the start of the topic?

I'd love to take part in this. BenMillard on Social Club and PSN. I used to run a ' Pure Racing' event for GTA Content Creators [GCCC] and before that did off-roading with NeXt Gen GTA [NGGC] (the crew GTAmissions made famous on YouTube). Haven't done it for ages and totally get the relaxed, scenic tour "follow the leader" style. Kalahari is my favourite 4x4 but if it's too low for the water I'd use my Injection. (If those are both risky I have a 6x6 Dubsta and, last resort, a Sandking SWB.) Who should I add to PSN friends? Will there be a pre-event Freemode to be sure of an invite?
